If your dog is a service dog it should be trained to help you in all situations and should not be anxious. Perhaps reach out to the organization that trained your dog if it will need additional training.

This isn’t how service dogs work. They’re wonderful but they are still sometimes put in situations that test their limits. As a handler, you have to know yourself and your animal. Many people with service animals have travel and backup plans for when their animal can’t be with them or can’t function as they normally would. It’s very common to give service animals medication during travel and instead rely on backup medical support (typically another person) during travel. People with service animals often need support on their trip but can manage without while flying in order to let the dog travel comfortably. The noise and pressure changes of airplanes can be very stressful for some dogs.

Each airline has a website for their specific rules. You have to fill out the DOT form which requires you to provide vet and training information (ESAs are no longer accepted) and attest to your dog’s behavior. There’s nothing wrong with a sedative if you think your dog will need it; most service dogs haven’t been through plan travel before and it’s not part of their training. If your dog is larger, you’ll want to call the airline to discuss options since most require you to have the dog on the floor in front of you. For longer flights you’ll want to make sure you have a potty plan and/or plan food and water accordingly.

Adding on - just make sure your dog is truly a service dog and not an ESA (no longer allowed). I watched some poor people get turned away at the Delta desk recently for trying to say their ESA counted as a service dog.

There’re meds that the vet can prescribe for your dog to take before flying. My bf’s dog takes them and sleep through the flights. He also buys 2-3 seats for him and his dog so they have more space and no need to worry about someone sitting next to him.

A1, yes, I recognize that everyone has different needs from their dogs, and it widely varies. OP didn’t say if they’re traveling alone or with a partner. I can only speak from my own experience in which the service dogs I know need to be alert.

Can I be fired for refusing to travel right now? Don’t want to due to covid risk. Raised this concern but was told I might just have to anyways. Can they fire me if I just don’t go? I’ve said very clearly I will not go, and don’t think they’re going to accept that answer.

Unexpectedly leaving consulting for industry. Background isn’t in apparel but got an offer to join a large international apparel company as a product director and decided to make the jump. Will also be managing teams around the world, so opportunity to travel internationally, which is a perk in my book.

I think i have fucked up my 5 year old relationship. Recently I met a female friend of mine who was supposed to meet her current boyfriend at a fancy ass hotel coz they were meeting after long. But he couldn't make it coz he got sick last moment. So she called me 12 in the night that she wanted company and I foolishly went ahead to give her some "company". A few hours into the night we both couldn't control our mind and while sleeping we started cuddling. *More below*

Sometimes travel is not easy like it should be. I had a $1200 credit (b class flight from Paris to NY) from American Airlines that I was told was good for any trip. After 30+ hours between call backs and different desks, they tell me because the trip originated in euros I can only apply it in the US. Fine, but then after another hour on hold, I hear that it can only be redeemed in person at a ticket counter in Paris. I live in NY. Was never told of these stipulations before. Never again AA

Hi Guys, I am a new member on this platform. I'm looking for a role change and wish to work in the consulting space (strategy/management/supply chain/business). I have 5 years of experience in the textile industry. I've had the opportunity to work on the manufacturing and sourcing side managing supply chain for international clients. I'm currently providing freelance consulting services on project basis. Any of your referrals to job openings at consulting firms would really help. Thanks

Ever since the pay-scale and bonus increases, has your firm pressured you to bill more? On at least 3 separate occasions, firm leadership has mentioned billing 2400-2600 and even said billing 2000 is not hard to do (even though we’re still in a pandemic). I can bill over 2k, but I find it strange that this is their messaging almost as if they can’t afford to keep up.
