Mil(lions of dollars in the)bank is Milbanking on this heading off any special bonuses this year
A1, yes agreed. Oh well.
Davis Polk / Cravath over the top?
👀
Ahh Milbank. The reason I left (ran) away from big law. Good times.
Agree with EY 1 on all of the above as a former Milbank associate as well.
I heard they’re the compensation leader because the culture is toxic, even for biglaw standards 👀
Someone says this about EVERY firm. I hate how “toxic” is thrown around now. I got duped out of law school into going a regional “lifestyle” firm. The pay was half of biglaw first year. Most partner track associates billed 2,600+ hours, there were many screamers, late nights, and weekend work expectations. I left after two years and went to biglaw, where I work LESS and the culture is way better. Quit throwing around the word “toxic” unless you’ve been there and can actually help someone make a decision about the place!

Giant bubble waiting to burst?

What “big law” firms will be priced out of the recent salary hike?
Priced out vs willing to pay.
