Well, I just offered to go without a paycheck and forego the bonus for the rest of the year so that we can save a few jobs, especially the junior folks who may not have sufficient rainy day funds. Maybe the boomers will be the ones who will help them stay employed...

Thank you. I was laid off back in 2002 when I was a Senior Consultant, so I know the pain and fear that one goes through after losing their job. I can tell you with complete honesty that I am not the only one on the leadership team that is stepping up to take care of our folks. We are in this together. Take care and be well. Thank you for your response.

It may take some of us, but not enough to end the way they expect it to.

I hear millennials, gen xr’s, high school age as well as middle school age saying “OK Boomer” and “Boomer Remover” comment. Well, for those of us around long enough and regardless of the label we fit under we know how this likely ends. There will be many that will face reality that they did not have all the answers, others supported them/saved their asses, facing life is tough and requires hard work, and in many cases severe karma. For folks born about in the 90’s or later, this is their 1968, their 9/11, their dot com bust or their 2008. They have not faced a single market event where you face reality and get seasoned. God bless that you have enjoyed and become accustomed to growth, relative prosperity, extreme freedom - now we pay the piper. It happens and frankly our last good run was longer than usual. Buck up kids, listen and learn to those who have faced the tough times. You will need it.

I’m just so numb to any silliness from that generation. They can be very exhausting..

Let’s not forget who raised this monsters - the boomers. I don’t have kids and I’m really glad now, listening to my friends’ stories. That’s what get when you don’t set boundaries. It won’t take long and they’re old themselves. Good luck with that.

So right. Simon Sinek has a great discussion on millennials in the workplace.

I think it’s so funny they keep referring to anyone older than them as boomers. Many consulting lifer boomers who made partner are already retired. It’s us genx & geny you’re pointing fingers at. Get your facts straight people

Hold your fire. The term came from middle schoolers not millennials. My own 13 daughter calls me boomer but I'm squarely in gen x. You're just looking for an excuse to be mad at the millennials.

Non concur. Millennials are using this term far and wide. They mistake me for one of them because I look young so I hear a lot.
