Looking to get into a CRE analyst position. I’m in my early 40’s and have been a landlord and doing fox and flips for my own business. I graduated in 2018 and minored in real estate. In striking out in the few interviews I’ve gotten but haven’t had much luck w my resume despite accolades from those that have reviewed it. I’m about to start my new role as a senior in FSO FAAS. I have done accounting advisory before but dealing with tech clients, so pretty different. Any tips on how I can be better prepared for the new role and recommendations on good reading materials(guidances) ?

I’m torn between 2 offers. One as a Managing Consultant at a boutique talent consulting firm and one as a Talent/OD Lead in industry. My long term goal is to become a Director/VP one day. People are telling to go for the industry role then but I kind of still want to be in consulting for a few more years. Will it be harder for me to make the switch later to a more senior role in HR from consulting than to climb the ranks at one company?

Feeling a little bit low-balled by a Bay Area public company offering me a role at 145K w/ 9years of experience. Will it sound ridiculous if I counter with $175K? It will still be a COL adjustment down, but more acceptable, especially with my partner relocating with me and him working remotely.

So I recently interviewed for an associate PM role with my current company. I’ve been a store manager with them for 11 years. During the interviews, I felt like things were growing great and the feedback I got at the end was great. You’d think given my time knowing the product/ company for so long, that I’d be a great fit but I got rejected and haven’t gotten feedback probably will get ghosted. Received an offer to join a consulting firm as a Consultant specializing in Data Analytics and Visualization. TC is $180K. I would work with the big tech clients. My current base barely breaks $160K but the equity brings TC to about $185K however we are still private so not really $185K. I’m not enjoying the current role and am beginning to look for other opportunities internally. I do like the company culture and people. Should I try to stay and accept the lower salary or take a risk and jump?

I’m 2 YOE, trying to break into CRE. I just had my second interview with the EVP AND SVP of Asset & Portfolio Management a Healthcare Private Reit for a PM/AM Analyst position. They told me everything went great in my interviews, but they want me to interview with others at the firm and to provide them with references before they make a decision. The problem is the pay range is $60-65k, while I’m currently making 73.5k as a fs consultant at low end of the pay band. Is the opportunity sensible?
