So I’m about to start my interview process for Capital One next week for a Senior Financial Analyst position. My recruiter going give me a prep call on Friday but I wanted any advice that recruiters don’t tell you during the interview process. Also I wanted to ask if Capital One a decent place to work at. I will be working at the one in McLean Virginia if that helps.
Any books to recommend on mental strength?

Broke my foot when trying to avoid another biker that I didn't see coming down. Still haven't been able to get back to riding
Oh gosh 😭
Had brain surgery a long time ago from a crash on a velodrome. So not mountain biking. I was also racing professionally at the time so actually what led me to finish school.
Yeah was good. Honestly I was told I was pretty lucky and that the recovery process went so well because I just happened to be in amazing shape at the time.
Scene: Slickrock, Moab. The definitive ride at the most famous place in the world for mountain biking.
Day 1, ride 1 of a four-day trip. About a hundred yards in, there’s a twisty little down and up in the trail where the radius of the dip is about the same radius as a tire.
Not paying attention, weight too far forward, the wheel completely locks in place in this little divot - but the frame, with me on it, continues forward because physics.
Over the handlebars onto my head and then my shoulder. Spent the next three days in camp getting shitfaced while everyone else rode, and later found out I tore several tendons, but since I was such a dumbass tough guy and didn’t go to the doctor, the tendons were permanently severed whereas if I had gone in sooner they could have seen them back together.
Well, I’m not, but more because I’m too busy with kids and started playing tennis :). Strangely, the shoulder is totally fine other than a bone sticking up where it shouldn’t but it has full range of motion and no pain 🤷
Was down in Colorado Springs when I tried to go up gnarly hill but lost my balance and fell with the bike pedals splitting my shin wide open, blood, bones, and glory haha
Seeing your own bones is the worst smh

Broke a wheel 10 miles from the trailhead trying to do something cool on a solo ride. Long, lonely and depressing walk back.

90 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Had plenty of water and snacks tho.
Last week. Hit of rock on side of the trail. Didn’t fall over it was just a rock wall on a bench trail. Cut elbow. No big deal. Didn’t think anything of it and kept mountain biking the days after.
Seven days after crash, my elbow and forearm swell and hurts like hell. The cut looks fine. I go to ER. They run a run of test and put me on antibiotics. This is day 3, and nothing is better. Going back to Dr tomorrow, and will likely get admitted. Admitted for a cut.
Turned a corner to see a skunk in the middle of the path. Skidded off my bike trying to stop (was totally fine from the fall). Skunk sprayed me while I was down
