MM analysts/associates - what are your hours and WLB life? Thinking about making the jump from FDD but want to make sure it’s the right move for me from that perspective. I’ve been working average of 55-60 hour weeks and find it very manageable and am still able to have a life. Don’t work most weekends but I have some and have definitely had a handful of nights working past midnight.

Can IB peeps help me understand the hours you work. At 80 hours per week the following seem inevitable: High rate of errors or extreme drop off in productivity (most likely both). Emotional reactions. Poor decision making. Little to no creativity. Extreme sleep deprivation or no social life (likely both). Obviously the list could go on. I don’t see how it’s a net benefit to the employee or employer.

I’ve been prepping hard for M&A technicals (reading R&P, biws400) for a move to an MM IB firm but got hit up to interview for a T2 consulting firm (LEK, EYP, OY).

My goal is to break into PE potentially but I’m not sure if it’s worth putting in effort for T2 consulting interviews because I believe exits from T2 are more limited compared to an MM IB like JEF. My question really boils down to how do exits from a T2 compare to that of a top MMIB? Appreciate any and all insights!
