I would not recommend EY lot of friends had negative experience about EY and other consulting firms and have left them ; plus consulting model is client facing all time so do not get leeway; even if someone promises I would not go for it.

^you need to find the right roles. I was internal corp strategy at Deloitte and my whole team was remote. We got together maybe once a quarter. I didnt see a pay decrease as mentioned above and my trajectory was faster than my client facing colleagues. If you are doing a good job for someone in the csuite promotions are a formality and good raises are a given. Good internal no travel roles exist at consulting firms you just need to know where to look. I have friends that work in research at consulting firms as well. They spend most of their time developing and evangelizing white papers. I did this for a while as well and it was really fun. I highly recommend it. Also there is basically no travel in those roles.

If you are doing business unit strategy / corporate strategy lot of firms in nyc allow you to work from home especially in retail ; I know quiet a few mom friends of my wife they are going in office only 1-2 days a week with Estée Lauder and theory

I primarily work from home and have at a couple firms. You might be able to get something internally at McK. Id look there if you haven't.

Cognizant's corporate strategy team is entirely remote. Worth checking out

BCG is great about helping folks find internal roles, but that comes with a significant pay cut

EY

Us Bank tends to remote based roles.

I wrote a rec letter for one of my legal assistants for law school right before COVID got bad and we all started working remote. Ever since then, this assistant has seemingly been slacking. There’s only so much I can actually see/review without seriously micromanaging her. I’ve spoken to her about her slacking at least twice and both times she just brushed it off. I want to withdraw my rec letter, but I feel like it’s too late. She is leaving at the end of the summer. Should I just let it be?
