I always use their registry, ask around if she has one

like

Thanks i couldn't find it and didnt know baby registry was a big thing!

like

Just go off the registry. Moms put a lot of time and effort into identifying all of those things which are what they think will be best for their baby. If you want to add a personal touch, get a book for the baby’s library!

like

Thank you a book sounds pretty thoughtful, she'll probably be getting a lot of clothes. I don't think she has a registry but do moms usually create one before having the baby?

I’d get 3-6 months or even 6-12 because I felt like everyone gifted 0-3 month size. Make sure you consider the season when you gift clothes. Also, you can see if they have a registry. You may be able to find it by googling her name. Brands for clothes I’ve really liked kate Quinn and Hana Andersson. They are a bit more expensive but held up well.

I shall google these brands thank you!

Baby swing/bouncer/rocker is great for babies under 5 months of age. It gives parents some hands off time even if it's for few minutes at a time. Clothes are good as well, size up when gifting clothes. For a newborn I'd gift 3+ months or beyond. Hope that helps.

Thank you EY1 (:

I just had few coworkers send me very thoughtful gifts when I announced my pregnancy recently. I received books for the baby (with a coworker sending the ones he had very fond memories of his mom reading them to him), baby blanket, travel system (this one is expensive and is from my whole team), gift cards for baby and me (favorite restaurants delivery), and one momma sent me a baby kit which gripe water, nail filer etc. This is my first baby so I dont know how useful these will be in future, but opening them got me all emotional and I did cry a bit at the thoughtfulness.

What an amazing team! That is so thoughtful. Great suggestions for friends and coworkers alike!

I’m a practical person and while baby stuff is a cutesy, new parents get so much of that... stick with diapers. We can never get enough diapers!!! Seriously, it seems silly but this co-worker will thank you!! One of my co-workers bought me 3 boxes of diapers and I’ll never forget her generosity.

like

Look them up on amazon or buy buy baby or target .. quick search of name will pop up registry. Also... gift cards are always great and food delivery when baby comss

When leading a team through a reasonably large process change (e.g. changing from non existent to… something), is it a better idea to adopt a Big Bang approach (huge change, but all at once) or through smaller iterative changes (over many months)? What are the pros / cons of either approach? And any suggestions for dimensions to keep in mind when deciding?

Lucky (I guess) enough to inherit ~$6M from my mother who just passed. We lived rather frugally and had no idea she had built up this kind of wealth so I'm pretty amazed. Father passed already so I am 100% taker. The mix is ~350k house, ~$100k condo, ~$1M in a stable value fund, ~1.5M in 401(k), ~1.5 in Roth IRA, remaining ~1.5 is in taxable brokerage and modest amount in her HSA. I live in a different state so I don't mind selling the properties. I have no clue how to think about this...

Have you ever asked a sibling not to use a family name for a baby they're expecting? My brother and his wife are expecting (14 weeks, do not know gender yet) their first baby and we are very happy for them. We currently have a toddler, but have had 2 early miscarriages this year following IVF. For the last one we made it to the first ultrasound, knew the sex, and I had named him in my head - I wanted to name him after my grandfather. 😢

Moms I am in disbelief right now! Our au pair just said she wanted to go into a rematch due to our Covid restriction. We merely mentioned she needed to be very careful with who’s hanging with. She goes out on weekends without coming back. We do get concerns because 1. We don’t know who she has been with; 2. I have an elderly mother who’s at risk; 3. Our family is being very careful. We don’t go to places when unnecessary.

I’m pregnant, scared, and afraid to tell my partner. Neither of us want a baby right now but I’m scared terminating the pregnancy would ruin our relationship (i’ve heard stories of some men having resentment about it). At the same time we’re not ready to have a baby and that won’t help either. i just feel like this might be the beginning of the end of our relationship so part of me just wants to handle the is on my own. idk what to do.
