I'm working on an account that consists of 3 other agencies, each one has it's own project manager. One of the lead PMs developed the timelines for 2019 campaigns and all the rest of us are to (contd)
I'm struggling to establish boundaries on my project. I get new work assigned at 6pm most days and I'm told they need done by the next day. I start at 7am everyday. Anyone have advice on what I can say to leadership? I seriously can't be working 7am to 11pm every day, my personal life/family is really taking a huge hit. I don't mind the occasional long day, but consistent 14-15 hour days aren't gonna fly anymore.
A coworker this week told me I look 13. I know I have a baby face but that’s so rude! I should have told her she looked 50 (she’s not 50)
How does ZS compare to PWC Healthcare in terms of project work, work/life, and pay for a new hire out of undergrad?
HALP! I'm getting a promotion soon at a global agency (Head of Digital), CEO asked me to put a stucture for a huge teleco client to manage social & digital paid/owned... any recommendations?
Is healthcare in America really that bad? Are there many people who want/need healthcare who are unable to get it? I was watching this video and am wondering: is this the model America should (not can) adopt?
Anyone else experience more challenges with setting boundaries for WLB when your lead is also a mother? I’ve had no issues with setting boundaries with past partners /leads (all males /dads) and have them respect it. It feels harder to ask since she understands the stress too.
Anyone watching Indian Matchmaking? Aparna and her mother have to be the worst, right? She thinks she's a godsend and quite frankly she looks like a potato, is ignorant, doesn't sound nearly as intelligent as she professes to be, and is even more negative than I am! That's gotta say something.
Has anybody hopped over from an MBB/T2/B4 type of firm to a boutique? Thoughts /perspectives? Would appreciate either a push off the ledge or a pull away from it. Generally fed up with the long hours, lack of project variety, and the firm’s small practice and lack of focus in my interest area and wondering if things would improve at a boutique that specializes in what I want to do.
Got married too early (6months) with a narcissist “love bomber”. Didn’t know what love bombing was, never had dated a narcissist before, and I thought I had found the one. I’m 4 months pregnant and
Anyone ever negotiated parental leave before? I have an offer on the table. Gave me what I asked for $ wise and PTO. But mat leave is not great. Not trying to have a baby now, but in the next 5 yrs.
Consulting engagements are project-based. How important are project management certifications at medium - higher levels? And of important, what certifications would recommend taking?
How much notice should your manager, client and project get about your coming paternity leave?...especially if it coincides with a Go Live
My friend just had a baby. I want to send her something useful / something she needs. I know the first few weeks are tough. Any recommendations?
I found out today that my employer doesn’t offer any paid parental leave (maternity or paternity). This isn’t a major issue now, but my wife and I are planning on trying in a year or so from now. How many other employers don’t offer any paid leave at all? Coming from public accounting this seemed outrageous to me, but curious to see what other companies are like.
Is it a bad look to put in your notice after coming back from a maternity leave? Would it burn bridges or not a big deal?
At the other big 4 firms - what are the details of the maternity leave benefit? How long does someone have to be employed before qualifying? How long is the leave before labor & how long is the leave after? Thanks!
Starting from blood work to getting pregnant, if everything goes smooth what is a timeline we are looking at?
Started working for an agency during the pandemic and found out that they cut associate salaries for those who started during the pandemic. I’m doing the same amount of work and getting paid less just because I started during the pandemic. Seeing as the agency has won more business and things are pretty much back to normal, would it look bad for me to ask for a raise?
I recently got a verbal offer from KPMG strategy. Is that more prestigious than like, most other firms? Like, I know MBB is done with recruiting; I feel like below MBB for name recognition is the Big 4 and other firms aren’t as reputable. I’m trying to decide whether or not I should interview and apply to other firms or just take this one (assuming a written offer ever comes along). Also, I prioritize work culture and exit opportunities over salary, but don’t want to be paid below poverty line.
Help me predict when I’ll get the GC. Filed AOS, EAD, AP, medical together I-131, I-765, I-485 receipts in early Oct 2021 I-140 not yet approved Nebraska center ROW
Merged my account this morning. Quite a sentimental moment to delete my SPG app. Bye bye you purple little guy
It sucks being the glorified food orderer, but after ordering $500 worth of chik filet, I realized I get the points in my Amex and massive chik filet rewards # smallvictories
Looked at a product management role on LinkedIn, and it had 900 applications within 8 hours of being posted. Is this level of competition normal for the job market? Any advice on how to stand out?
I go on maternity leave soon, and my firm offers 16 weeks paid leave, which I plan to fully take advantage of. The only female shareholder in our office keeps pushing me to only take 6 weeks though, because that's what she did. I feel really put off by her comments, but its also making me feel guilty about taking the full time. This is mostly a vent, but if anyone wants to give me some words of wisdom or thoughts, I will take them!
If a firm (for e.g. PwC with MF Global) loses a pending law suit, are layoffs inevitable?
Considering on possibly making the move to Deloitte. How is the diversity there? Anything I have to worry about ?
Currently in financial services tax WAM federal group at B4, manager. Seriously considering the exit and have been applying actively in various industries (not the typical PE or hedge funds in house role). Which industry is the best in terms of growth opportunities and pay? Fintech? Info/technology? E-learning? My end goal is becoming a head of tax and I want to choose my first industry role wisely. Don't want to get pigeonholed into a dying industry.
Senior privacy associate in BigLaw considering a move in-house. Would love to get some data points regarding in-house comp. I realize that a move in-house will entail a significant pay cut, and was wondering what is the highest you’ve seen for in-house privacy (or tech trans plus privacy) positions requiring less than 10 years of experience? (I am assuming they would be at FAANG?) My BigLaw total comp for this year would be $395k- just trying to prepare myself for what the pay cut will look like
If my director said I would be rated a 1 as a 2nd year, does that mean I should expect a promotion to senior come May? Not sure if you can be rated a 1 and not promoted.
Someone in an HR session asked how Diversity and Inclusion retention/promotion efforts could negatively impact people who aren't "diverse." That's a bad look bruh.
What are the evaluation metrics for phone case interview at McKinsey? I’ve been reading reviews about being failed despite sufficient preparation. I have sufficient time to prep (2 weeks) but am finding myself underprepared at this point.
Fiancée (woman) wants to keep her hyphenated name after her previous divorce because she likes it better and wants to keep using it for her career/personal brand. Fiancé (man) thinks keeping it hyphenated is disrespectful to him, does not see how shortening a hyphenated name detracts from personal branding, would prefer she only use her maiden name going forward, and does not want her to adopt own last name once married. Who do you side with?
Checked in at Ritz at 10.45 pm, room had some loud background noise or echo. Called front desk to report and they sent an engineer. Engineer came and said this noise is too loud let me tell (cont)
Anyone who’s interviewed with another firm before leaving the previous company - what was your experience?
