Ok so for everyone who says they can work from home while watching their kids, they have built this for you. For $5500 it can be yours, compare that to the price of daycare! You’ll be saving money and the boss can’t see your kid on the webcam with this setup. https://www.demco.com/tmc-family-workstation

Keep it at that point. Before that there isn’t always much they can see and you end up having to go in again anyways.
I had the same reaction though! When I first found out I was pregnant I thought they’d want to see me right away and thought it was too far off.
That is pretty standard

This is normal. I know it is an anxious time but there is not much they can do / say before this point. They will do an ultrasound to confirm if one or more embryos and will see where it is positioned. Congratulations mama!

8+ weeks as well! They did not even confirm with bloodwork, just took my word for it.
8-9 weeks is standard unless you are high risk, going thru fertility treatments, etc. some docs won’t even see you until 12 weeks.
Mine was 12 weeks. There’s really nothing they can tell you before then anyway and no interventions if things were not OK. It’s such a stressful time, especially the first time around, but just take your vitamins and try to enjoy?
Seems standard. I think my first appt was at 9 weeks.
That’s normal
Totally normal - mine as at 8-9 weeks. Congratulations!
Mine was also at 8 weeks. Congratulations!
I didn’t know I was pregnant until 10 weeks in (first pregnancy and everything was great). Second time I knew after 7 days (full me once...that sort of thing;) still waited for my appointment which was 8 weeks out from that point. That pregnancy went well too and resulted in my second kid. You are ok, take a deep breath and enjoy the exciting times ahead!
My first appointment was 8 weeks, they drew blood, gave me a book on pregnancy, and said congratulations; so don’t expect too much even when you have the appointment. First one where anything really happened was a trans-vaginal U/S at 10 weeks to confirm heartbeat.
I went to my first appt at 8week 6days and dr drew blood to confirm pregnancy / run tests and did an ultrasound. Very normal.
Congrats! 8 weeks is standard unless you have a complication or severe pain.
For instance, I went in at 5 or 6 weeks bc I had an ovarian cyst rupture. The baby is fine (I’ll be 14 weeks on Saturday), but they wanted me to come in given my severe level of pain.
Still had to go in for my 8 week, though.
Better 8 weeks than 7 - they can see a lot more!
9 weeks for me. They said had to be 8+ weeks to potentially be able to detect heartbeat in an ultrasound. Totally normal don’t worry!
That is normal. I had had two chemical pregnancies before one that stuck and so I scheduled an appt for 6 weeks. They did a scan but couldn’t see anything (though at that time because of my history with chemical pregnancies they were checking for whether it was ectopic). At 8+ weeks is when they could really see anything to confirm.
I’m 6 weeks pregnant today and my first visit is scheduled for 8 weeks. I was bummed too, but it’s normal from everything I’ve read and heard.

Just made my first apt today and it will be at 7.5 weeks! Congrats to you!!
