Rotate monitor duty with significant other so you get a good night sleep every other night.
Caffeine.
Write everything down.
I was soooo slow when I came back. My brain speed picked up SIGNIFICANTLY when I stopped pumping.
This is good to know. I’m at 15 months and almost at the end. I know folks who stopped as soon as they went back to work but it was too difficult for me to ignore the pain. I kept going for much longer than I thought I would.
I wasn’t even pumping and I was still mega slow. It’s the hormones and will settle down in sometime. My son is 15 months now but I still feel my output at work is significantly lesser than what it used to be because my priority has shifted
Hang in there, you have to give your body & mind a little bit time to adapt

I stopped pumping at 13 mo and now at 20 mo PP, everyone around me is also noticing that I am back in my game. Though a different type of challenge has emerged: Daycare germs attack but definitely feel more like myself and have a better focus span. So much respect for you and anyone who pumps at client site! Truly moms who traveled post partum, moms who pump at client site, moms who are managing a sick toddler and a new born are truly super moms! So much respect.
Also - doesn’t it feel so theatrical after being immersed in such a primal time? We’re all just monkeys in suits on a rock hurling through space.
Anywho. Have a good night everyone!
Come on, give yourself some grace! You’ve probably been on maternity leave for months. I’m wiped out, exhausted, and unfocused after being out of office for one week on vacation.
Give yourself some time to get back in the groove. And definitely try to get as much sleep (as you can)! Congrats and good luck!
My attention span was completely shot when I went back to work. The Pomodoro Technique (25 min on, 5 min break) helped me build that muscle again so I could actually get stuff done.
Good luck!!
It will definitely take some getting used to. What’s helped me is blocking off time on my calendar everyday to basically catch up on all meeting notes, emails, deliverables, and honestly just to breathe.
