If you trust the daycare to take all the right precautions, do it! Or at least start with 3 days a week to ease into it There is no right answer, hang in there ☹

I am sending my child to daycare because I consider them to be best in class in terms of covid prevention. They are affiliated with a biomedical research institute so some of the things they can do are impossible to replicate in the general population but I can list the things you may want to look for. 1. Small infant rooms - 3 teachers and 4 infants in my sons room 2. Teachers and babies (soon to be parents as well) are tested for Covid every week with results in 24 hours 3. Training of staff for additional infection prevention protocols 4. Temp checks 5. Affirmation of lack of symptoms daily 6. Close down the room if a child has symptoms or a potential exposure, followed by rapid testing 7. Labeling of all personal items 8. Mask wearing by teachers , and fitted N95 masks for teachers who have to commute 9. Reduction of use of all non full time staff 10. Additional cleaning protocols 11. Outdoor drop off and pickup 12. Webinars with parents for QA of Covid prevention protocols I’m probably missing a lot but this is why we felt like we could do it. Look for somewhere that has as many of these as possible.

We recently started sending our 1 year old 3 days a week. I could not get anything done and felt like I was ignoring her. You have to do what’s best for you! It was also important to me for her to be around other kids, there aren’t any other kids in our extended family. People need to mind their own business!

Philosophical question (not trying to be political, just a genuine question I’ve been grappling with): do you think being pro-choice and pro-vax mandate are logically inconsistent? Both are sincere views of mine, but upon further reflection I haven’t been able to think of a way one position could be completely defended without undermining the other. Goes the other way for pro life/against vax mandates as well. The fact is, they just feel different to me, but I’m not sure why. Thoughts?

I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..

I spoke to a Senior Manager earlier today and she told me they are looking to hire experienced and qualified candidates who have the below requirements: 1) Bachelor’s degree 2) CPA certification 3) 3-7 years of Accounting or Audit experience 100% remote. Then, post COVID traveling will vary. Please, if you meet the above requirements or know someone who does and is interested in joining Deloitte send me a private message. I will have you send your resume and I will forward to Senior Manager.

Does anyone maybbbbbe think that this new “spike” in corona virus cases could be possibly caused by these massive riots in every major city? Not saying the riots are bad or wrong, but let’s not kid ourselves and say these aren’t a contributing factor. So when people are surprised at the USAs rising rates, I mean come on...

Thought: When you see diversity of skin color as the most critical factor you miss out of diversity of experience and ideas. Quite often these overlap, but there are a lot of people out there like JD Vance who come from poor white roots, but because of their skin color they’re assumed to have some magical privilege bestowed upon them by society. Likewise, wealthy people of color are lumped in with their less affluent counterparts. We’re so quick to look at skin color and see the sum (cont’d)
