Any people of color here who were pitched on their agency's diversity/inclusion culture when they were recruited? Did the story line up with the reality?

From what I’ve seen, it appears that Asian-Americans (born and raised in the US)
have been more empathic and supportive of Black people and the movement right now vs. Asians from Asia in the US. Anyone seeing something similar? If so, why is that? Less exposure to diversity?

I’m a SPED Resource/Inclusion Teacher which I really love. I really like working with the Gen Ed teachers maybe because my background is Gen Ed. I’m noticing many SPED team members go straight to the principal if they have an issue with a Gen Ed teacher instead of going to the teacher directly. Is this the norm now? What happened to SPED working with Gen Ed? Maybe I’m old school, but this seems so wrong to me. Thoughts?

AOC, Biden, Ilhan, Hilary... I mean at try to be inclusive when speaking of diversity. You can’t name a single female in the Conservative party throughout history?

Does it help or hurt a woman to have a more masculine gender presentation in the corporate world?

So I recently started a position with Fox. When it was presented to me in interview, I was told I would be working aligned with Fox Sports & Entertainment, not so much News. Now that I’m here, I’m seeing everything I’ll be doing is with the News team & makes me uncomfortable. No diversity, outdated software & process.
Financially, it’s the best position I been in. But mentally in this environment, it’s depressing & slow. Nothing innovative or engaging. What would you do?

Not cpa related, but if anyone is applying to pwc start internship 2021 and you identify as a minority you can "present yourself as a minority" and a recruiter will refer you to a web page to see if you meet this criteria. Basically it looks like you'll get preferential treatment if you meet the criteria. Firm is really pushing diversity it would seem

Me personally - Male - I’ve had better experiences working with male managers. I’ve noticed that more female managers feel disadvantaged and try extra hard to prove themselves (incredulous this happens in 2020), but in the process tend to be more demanding and stressful to work with. This is not intended to offend anyone. Just genuinely looking to learn and grow.

By now, nearly every CEO of a major company has made some public statement or proclamation of their commitment to racial equality, diversity, and such matters. What percent of those do you believe truly comes from the heart and a bias for both personal and corporate action, versus a necessary public relations response with little personal ownership? My view: about 30%. That is still a great number, because it’s far higher than zero.

People at work are sick of saying “Folks”. What is another way of saying “guys”, “all”, “team”? Or is “folks” the best we have right now?
