My white, male ECD asking my all white, all male, highly privileged department to try and think of proactive ideas about diversity for the next award season 🤮 Grim that they see diversity as not much more than a hot trend to jump on to win metal.
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?

Recently had my opinion shut down because “as a white male, I was coming from a position of privilege and could not possibly understand”. Excuse me? My skin pigmentation has more bearing than any life experience, education and past hardships and condemns me to being inherently incapable of ever being able to grasp certain concepts?

Also, don't make it the women's responsibility to navigate the gender politics, agression and harassment on their own. The company needs to take a stand and show everyone in a public way how much they value female points of view and the women that work there. When they leave it up to us to filter through all the garbage, we end up spending too much time worrying about that and too little time doing the work.

While my boss is very sensitive to sexism, he often reminds me that I am only a 2nd year, and that sometimes people (attorneys in our firm, outside co-counsel, opposing counsel) treat me differently in accordance with my experience level, rather than because of my gender. I, however, believe that I’d be given a lot more respect as a male 2nd year. Small firm so we don’t have any male associates. How do I show him it’s my gender and not my experience level?

My company did an analysis of the diversity of our outside counsel based on hours billed and spend. Women billed more than half the hours but were far less than half the spend 😒

How do you deal with back pain? I tried all things that could potentially help like getting lumbar support, ergonomic pillow, stretching steadily throughout the day etc. I'm seriously concerned if it will be what blocks me from moving forward in my career.
