Best way to learn how to read and debug SQL? I understand the basics but project is requiring more
Anyone know a good company that is hiring in Dallas or remote? Looking for consultant, Product/Project Manager, Integration Specialist/developer or similar roles!
I want to do strategy consulting on the side and serve prior clients (and net new clients) directly. How do you all think about pricing (and how much)? Hourly rate? By project? Something in between? One-man shop.
In general, is the Joining location of GDS (as mentioned in offer letter) remains the same as one continues to work during his/her tenure? Or is it like after one has joined in a particular GDS location, he may be asked to relocate to other locations based on Project requirements?
I got my first full time job back in March 2019. It’s my dream job in terms of work, team + industry. (I work for a travel agency doing their social). The only downside is the PTO. (Cont)
Why is New York cool? I know there's haters too but generally NYC is seen as a cool place to live or travel. Why is that? Lots of cities are big, old, have great food, music and art, what makes NYC special or different?
When you join a new firm, how soon should you be staffed to a project ? Is some initial delay considered to be ok ?
Im a recent grad on a tech implementation project for a small firm. I’m finding it challenging because I’m expected to know how to solution a user problem based on the system that I really don’t know all the ins and outs of. I enjoy the req gathering/PMO activities, but thinking of data mapping and integrations is such a new way of thinking than a typical strategy-based case study. Do strategy ppl find these tech implementation difficult?
Have you ever seen a deal die because you forgot to note the attached is being circulated to your client simultaneously and as such, remains subject to their ongoing review and comment in all respects?
How difficult is it to switch for someone with a Big 4 experience (within United States) to MBB in a different region (Europe or Asia)?
Who's (level) responsible for talking to client about budget overages + extra billings? Recently told manager is, no partner involvement - what's their role then? Seems Important /sensitive enough
Do any of the top consulting firms have analytics roles (preferably not super technical) that don’t require weekly travel?
Anyone have 4 AA spare upgrades? Have a long 4 hour personal flight coming up and will really appreciate any help.
Value in getting the Delta Reserve? I’m essentially trying to maximize chances of getting upgraded on a flight to Hawaii. Award ticket from MSP - Platinum Medallion. Not a corporate ticket. I already have the Platinum and could use the MQM
On h1b visa and have an offer from outside. Other firm has started the transfer process & and it will 2 more weeks to get approval. So basically have 4 weeks before joining. I have very good relationship with PPMD and SM. Also I am a key person on the project with good rapport with clients. I really want to let the Partner / SM know that I am leaving in 4 weeks, so that transition can happen smoothly. What are the cons of giving a notice in advance, what's the worst that can happen?
My friend got selected in capgemini, after joining project interviews are happening but he failed to clear 3 project interviews. What will be the impact of that??
SM is pressuring me to reduce travel expenses due to a fee sensitive client. All my expenses are in policy. Should I have to suffer if the client can’t afford me?
What’s up all, I’ve been soaking up game from so many of y’all, so thank you. I’m transitioning into tech and really want to see if there’s any people in tech sales (adtech or cloud verticals preferably) that could advise me on best practices/skills to obtain to land roles at top companies? I have a bkgd in solutions engineering & acct mgt in telecom, and project mgt. To add I’ve also built my own e-commerce business. I’m looking for roles in sales engineering or account exec/mgt.@
Have received majority critical feedback in the first few weeks on my new role. A few “thanks yous” & “good job” but that’s it. Should I be concerned??
🐠: Going to start traveling again soon, and don't have status on any airlines. Which airline do you recommend I use, considering ease of boarding, available overhead space, etc. I'll be going to CLT
Interviews.... I’ve been with Accenture for 10 years and starting to get a few bites outside. Do you still wear suits to a interview or zoom call or is business casual ok? Years ago it was always suits but not sure about 2020. Not an executive role. Thanks and have a great thirsty Thursday!
For people who recently lateraled, how did you go about negotiating a signing bonus? For context, I’m a rising 6th year in the finance group. I was approached about the position directly, so the firm isn’t paying a recruiter if they hire me. Any advice would be appreciated. It would be to go from a V20 to a V10 (not Kirkland). I don’t have competing offers as leverage, but I also wasn’t actively looking to leave
Should I choose Deloitte Consulting Finance Transformation or Deloitte Consulting M&A Finance given they are similar comp and leveling? Would also have same cross sector opportunities.
Accenture opportunities in following skill Experience 2 to 14 yrs. Location- PAN India (wfh) Dm.. comment for referrals.
This isn’t just about blue collar labor + day laborers. This would have a drastic effect on talent and diversity in advertising and other industries. Trump has no idea how important foreign labor is. https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/nation/2020/04/20/trump-says-will-suspend-immigration-over-virus-concerns/VFg3xBtttoPrFZYpYj5GbN/story.html
As an accountant in b4. I truly want to go back military as an officer for rest of my career. Life would be much better and as well as the pay............
How much notice do you give when you’re leaving? What mechanisms do you take into account — for example I have some folks reporting to me etc. Also the client project is just getting started. I feel bad about having onboarded and then I leave just like that. How many weeks notice do you give when leaving and what are the right things to do to avoid burning bridges?
I just want to hear the explanation for why staff who started during COVID are doing so badly on average (and I have heard this from every level including staff themselves) from the pro 100 percent work from home people. If you agree it’s real, what is your solution? If it can’t be fixed, are we just accepting that the people we expect to backfill our positions aren’t going to be ready?
Hi everyone! For those that feel comfortable, would love to see the breakdown AFC > eggs retrieved > fertilized > embryo > genetically normal (please feel free to include other steps, add in more numbers/details). I've read the averages of how it gets narrowed down, but always prefer hearing real breakdowns. I'm in the process of my first egg retrieval and trying to stay realistic. Really appreciate it!
Can anyone provide insight on Deloitte’s Human Capital Practice? I’m fairly new in my career and I’m curious to see what pay, WLB, benefits etc. are like compared to other firms.
Is there a good online forum to connect with others, and do mock Team Based Discussion (TBD) interviews? Excited to get the invite from Wharton!
How bad is driving in the winter in Michigan? I’m looking to take on an 18 months project on the western side and considering staying at East Grand Rapids. My commute each way would be about an hour.
Would you accept capping billable hours at 40/week in exchange for being able to work while completely remote?
Anyone in Deloitte Strategy and Analytics that could give me a referral? Top performer in my current practice but want to leave due to the lack of diversity at the management level.
