More of a benefits negotiation -How do I request for a company vehicle? I drive around 450 miles on a weekly basis for work site and my employer covers all vehicle expenses (gas, insurance, maintenance) but I drive personal car while my other PM colleagues have company vehicles.

Have you asked?

I would just ask if it’s a possibility, you don’t really need to provide a why.

“Does xyz company happen to have a fleet program?” Or “Would my role be eligible to receive a company car at this time?” are both good ways to broach the topic.

Do you know if your company allows personal use on the company vehicle? Some companies don’t or severely limit it, in which case you may have to retain two cars which is less than ideal.

Otherwise, I would just talk to your manager and ask if it’s an option to have a company vehicle and track mileage vs just getting a mileage reimbursement etc.

Yes, it's allowed. As long it does not escalate to a long road trip of 2k miles.

Leaving my law firm on Friday.
Any ideas for what to get for the following people?
1. Partner I work with on pretty much everything (we’re quite close- he swears a lot and is a great mentor)
2. Two paralegals (not on the best terms but we are cordial)
3. Partner I work with sometimes (very nice guy)
4. Associate I barely know
Should I just get a gift for the partner 1 and lump in all the other people by getting the law firm a gift basket? Any recommendations for gift baskets?

(1st yr & poor)

Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations

A colleague of mine just informed me that she earns more than me. Not a lot. $1000. We both manage optometry practices for a large chain. I've been with company seven years and a manager for four. She joined the company a year ago with no optical experience. Her store is busier than mine, but I have the optical skills and she's still learning. I feel like we should be at least on the same level. Thoughts?

I have been with my company for 19 months now. Last month I received a discretionary bonus but I feel now I should ask my manager to renegotiate my salary. Is there anyway of getting through the subject in a nice, professional manner?

I received a verbal offer today for a Denials Analyst position. I asked for an offer letter or anything in writing but they said they were unable to do so if I haven’t yet accepted the position. Is this normal?

I’m currently an L6 Analyst and I’ve been offered an in situ title change to an L5 Senior Analyst role. The offer includes an 8.3% salary increase and a year long commitment to my current department. If a company says that your salary expectations from the application are a little higher than what they thought but are willing to accommodate, is there still room for negotiation?

They mentioned this in the first interview so just curious if this is just a tactic and it’s well within their salary range they exact to pay.

Okay so I’m frustrated and would appreciate any insight to the scenario below.

HR provides an initial offer.
I asked to elaborate on complete benefits package ie conferences, CEU reimbursement (no negotiation yet)
She needs to ask the CEO (not sure why she couldn’t ask the senior HR manager)
I state my salary expectations based on research, experience, education.
She has to talk to the CEO again to find out what is negotiable within the overall package
What’s going on? Ur job is to negotiate?

Is it worth negotiating….
I was given an verbal offer yesterday for a great job as an account manager for a new company. The verbal salary offer came in 2k short of what I told them my minimum salary requirements would be. The job has great perks and to be honest I still may take the offer if they reject my counter.

The other thing is how much more should I ask for? Hypothetically if I wanted 50k and they offered me 48k, how much should I ask for in the counter, I was thinking maybe 5k more

225, different role, Cybersec vendor

Currently 125 with pretty poor benies.
