More often than not, PM owns the tasks of ensuring their team and agency log their time, but I argue that it is not our sole responsibility. Finance and Leadership often stray away from penalizing offenders. Other than including job numbers in subject lines, statuses and meeting invites, how do you encourage your teams to log tine weekly (regularly)?

I approve their time and time off requests. You don’t log your time, I don’t approve your pto request, simple.

Interesting...we can't approve PTO buy I may off it up to our operations team!

My agency automatically cuts off access to most tools (including Slack) for everyone who’s over two days late with submitting their timesheet. Works great.

I don’t put them on fun projects if they don’t do their time. No time sheets? No TVC for you!

Oh man...we don't have that authority but I love the idea!

PMs should be responsible for assessing and making recos/taking action against accurate time that has been entered. They should mKe sure that time was entered to corrsct codes. PMs should not be time-entry cops. Should be direct managers that are accountable for individuals' entering their time - including time off. They are the only ones who have visibility/oversight for all projects / accounts that a person might be working on. You point out some good ways to facilitate that activity. I also agree that Finance (or Ops), should be establishing and overseeing the process. They should provide the clarity about what SHOULD be happening.

That should include distributing a regular delinquent report to relevant stakeholders. Some shops will send out warnings centrally that time has not been submitted and will even cut off access to the network, including email, to offenders. Have to be careful that job numbers are opened in a timely fashion, so that well-intentioned staff can enter their time. Can get tricky with new biz and non-billable hours/codes.

I have always wondered this myself, without any repercussions why would these repeat offenders care to log their time?

We set up a Google sheets that integrates with our project management/time entry tool and shows everyone on staff with color coding on their time: red for not entered, yellow for entered but not approved, and green for entered and approved. That gets sent out to all staff on a regular basis, especially toward the end of the month. And the managers are responsible for making sure their people are getting their time in. Supposedly time entry will be taken into consideration when it comes to salary increases and bonuses.

Get this. My agency (leadership included) hated filling out timesheets so much, they officially decided not to track time anymore. Like we literally don’t have any time tracking tools or anything… 😂 🤷

Feeling extremely sad... I just went from thinking I potentially had one baby, to two babies to possibly none.

Yesterday I received results from first Ultrasound and was told that I might be carrying twins.

Went to get a second ultrasound today and was told there's no visible heart beat/yolk sac, meaning either my dates are off, miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

I currently work as a project manager, I just found out my co workers in the same position make 10k more than I do. I currently make 63k co workers make 72k and 75k. I have been performing duties outside of my job description in two languages. I have been finally offered a promotion to be a qualitative researcher but the promotion is only 2k than what the current project managers make. Should I accept the promotion although it’s more work and only 2k more than the project manager salary?

Wanting some advice. I manage higher up’s close friend and they are not qualified to do the work. I have been trying to steer the person in the right direction for weeks, & they don’t take feedback well and blame others. There was a particular meeting where this happened in front of others & they got frustrated and this got back with my boss and I’ve been told I need to work on empathy. The irony here is in past reviews my strongest feedback has been my relationship building skills.
