I’d like to hear more about this, if you don’t mind? I’ve never heard of bringing in a negotiator — I understand I might not be at a level where it’s relevant yet, but is this really common practice in the US? (I really like the idea.)
Some things I keep in mind beyond salary and PTO for compensation are bonuses (starting/signing or guaranteed), tuition reimbursement, relocation packages, health and dental insurance, paid parking, industry events. Things like work from home, flexible hours and unpaid time off aren’t financial compensation but might still be worth something to you, also.
I've never heard of the negotiator thing either. How does it work and where would you get one from? 20 years in the U.S.
I negotiated a higher base and to be included in the bonus pool even though my start date made me ineligible
