What is the policy regarding resignation for any employee who is still a probationer and how long is the probation period. For example, I am in probation period and decide to resign. What is the notice period in this case if any and if it is treated as immediate exit case, then are there any duration of wages payment? Please help! I actually find it offensive when a man doesn’t take full paid leave. First, you shouldn’t be voluntarily putting the burden on your partner. Third year new to BL on the east coast. On a deal with another mid and two juniors, all of whom are on Pacific Time. Junior I am working with was working on comments sent by partner (also on PT) and sending directly. I didn’t see any emails from the other mid and junior, stayed up until midnight, but wasn’t sure what my role was there. Was this clear cut and did I miss it? FWIW I’ve worked through the night previously for deals so this isn’t new to me; just wasn’t sure of my role on this team.

A partner (whom I don’t work for and barely know) followed up on a menial task, and when I replied asking for more info, he said, “I’ll give it to you tomorrow, but I thought this was done a month ago.” Wait…you mean, you thought it was done a month ago when I billed 310 hours and 6 associates left our group and we’ve only managed to replace 3 of them?

Now that the craziness of 2021 is firmly in the mirror, what is your class year and when do you normally stop working at night, on average? For me 6 to 7 is the average. Have to wake up at 5 or 6 a.m. one or two days a week to make that happen though and it may not last through Q4..

High expectations from family, friends and myself. Always been extremely ambitious and a high achiever, and now a V10 associate. Inherited two NYC mortgage-free condos that give me 5k a month.

Am I wrong or should a 5th year not delegate and micromanage a 4th year associate? Like the year gap isn’t that big for a 5th year to ask you to pull docs off the system for them, give you instructions on things or micromanage deadlines and send check in emails when you’re within the partners instructions/timeline. It’s getting on my nerves but not sure if I’m being dramatic.
