What's the best way to prepare a business case presentation? I've been invited to a final round interview for a medical device company as a process optimization consultant. They sent me a client case study. In the case there are pain points of the client, and some numbers to analyze their workflow and recommend them to use their medical devices for process improvement. I'm not sure how to stucture it. how would you approach it?
What do you all think of sites that generate legal docs (free or paid)? Do you think they’re going to replace us lawyers? Are they even legal?? Isn’t it practicing law without license, or establishing attorney-client relationship?
Day 3: soul patch 1, manager 0. I've gone on a psychological offensive, stroking my chin thoughtfully and looking Manager's direction during meetings. I think the client is picking up on the tension.
Dont know why there is a need for me to go to the client's site as a staff I if all the work im doing here can be done back at the office- such a waste of my time...i seriously dont know why i'm here
You’re given a brief for an OOO campaign. Could be cool. How many days are you given before you have to show concepts to the ECD? And to the client? Curious about time expectations at different places.
Hey all! I was told I might get help here! I got an offer at a mid pharma for a strategy role that I’m intending to take. Partner is threatening to sue because the job offer is from a direct client that I work with. I’ve received legal counsel and have no apparent liabilities in any of my or my clients contracts (non-compete, non-solicitation, etc.). Unfortunately, that doesn’t prevent me from getting sued because I still have to defend it. Has anyone else ever been in a similar situation?
How has COVID been impacting your personal life (e.g., childcare management, cabin fever), your firm and/or clients beyond WFH (e.g., layoffs, funding, project delays, unpaid leave, etc.)?
A client based in Japan had sent us a list of some Japanese texts and their English translations at our request which we needed. SM: Copy all the Japanese texts and their translations from document that client sent into a new document and send it back to client (to whom it came from) and ask them if they are correct. Me: Why are we doing that? SM: Just to ensure that we have validation in an email that client sent these translations to us. Me: Facepalm 🤦🏻♂️
My fun weekend project: If you're seeing this, can you share your favorite bowl in FB? If your favorite is Data & Analytics, can you also share your 2nd favorite bowl (the runner-up winner)? Seeing if there is a pattern in our interests: perhaps we have similar interests or maybe not at all.
Client has bill of sale stating she bought something (a horse), but she never got it’s official registration papers transferred and they are now lost by previous owner with whom we cannot get in touch. The registration organization for the horse breed says a court order is needed to prove ownership in the case official papers are lost. Since we have the signed bill of dale, would a declaratory judgment suffice to declare client the rightful owner? Does anyone have any templates for this/advice?
Sitting at my desk, basking in a glorious post leg day feeling, smell of a mild perfume and freshly brewed coffee, my dog gently snoring at my feet, the warm golden rays of the sun streaming through the windows, sending reflections of rainbow across the room, and a client saying “great job Deloitte, the leadership loved the presentation last night”. It’s a good day!
Interested to hear how people learn project management. I have done PRINCE2 exam and read PMP materials, but I find these are too textbook theory based. Real life projects seem to be very different and a lot more complicated. I often do not know what needs to be done unless someone tells me. I believe you can learn these things on the job, but I am keen to expedite this with some books or courses. Are there any resources that are particularly helpful?
If folks arrive at a morning meeting with a large cup of coffee, does it mean they are still sleepy? Our most important client meeting is at 9am and everyone drinks coffee through it.

What to do when a prospective client asks for a week-by-week breakdown of activities in your proposal? Activities are clearly indicated per phase already...
Women consultants: how do you deal with heavy good ole boys- type client sites? Specifically not allowing yourself to be disrespected and sticking up for yourself and your expertise or developing credibility in general in these settings? Would also appreciate advice from guys. Two months into a tech engagement. Very few women around me and the guys around me typically tend to either infantilize women if they can or believe competent women to be “b****es”?Role itself is pretty interesting.
I had a quick freelance job and am now invoicing. Do you itemize each portion of the project? E.g., About page - X hours, product descriptions - Y hours? Or just “All your stuff - ZZ hours”??
How do I know I need to review a SOC report? If I’m relying on a report, yes I need to. But what about those applications that client uses as back-up center (AWS for instance). Do I still need to review SOC? What about applications used for record keeping but not processing of transactions (Quickbooks for instance)?
Heartwarming diversity on display at the DNC! From Republicans to Democrats, representation from all races - even Northern Marinara Islands got a shout out. Go Joe & Kamala!
How do you all handle stress at work? I’m on a though project and feeling sort of hung out to figure it all myself. My stomach is in knots and I’m waking up in the middle of the night thinking about the case.
Drinking seems to be built into big law atmosphere/ central to networking. Any tips or lessons learned?
Wild that conservatives think they're on the right side of history after supporting officials who let tens of thousands die needlessly and will now try to take away people's healthcare.
“This global pandemic is exactly what our industry needed.” Okay...now repeat this exact phrase to the hundreds already laid off and all the ones to come. 🤯 https://www.campaignlive.com/article/took-global-pandemic-draw-line-sand-adland-sorely-needed/1678340
Are there any married couples working at two different big 4 firms? How did you make sure your finances were compliant with both?

Teacher Autonomy: Have you ever felt peer pressured by your colleagues to teach lessons a certain way? All year 1 teacher on my team made it seem like there was only her way to teach a topic.
I’m a 2nd year and effectively just ran a deal on my own with the partner. It ran smoothly, I got praise from the partner, and the partner said that they trust me to do most stuff without their sign off (so no need to check with them in future unless I’m really unsure). Generally there is one or two mid levels above me, and I find it way harder to do my job when they are managing me. They like to keep me on the bench, get me to do minor tasks and don’t let me take responsibility and ownership.
I made limited EQ partner in 2019 . This week I was told I’m getting moved to counsel effective Jan 1. My hours were negatively impacted in 2019 by an ill parent (only child) and in 2020 multiple clients said pencils down for half the year (& additional family illness & a death), + kids. I know nothing about the counsel role. What terms/arrangements have people negotiated? I don’t know what negotiation ability I’ll have, but wanted to be better informed.
Potentially have an offer from a local tech startup. I’m 24, currently make ~$95K base and ~$50K, with an additional ~$20K in profit sharing (so total comp around $160-170K). Offer would likely (cont)
Had a final round interview with B4 consulting on Monday and spoke with a partner for 10 min. When is it okay to follow up with them about a final decision? Currently staffed and they wanted me to start in March. So wanted to give my team maximum time to backfill my position.
Sick of paying for cable I don’t really use, minus live sports on the weekends, anyone have good experience with YouTube tv or PlayStation vue ?
Is wanting to receive my year end bonus from Deloitte a valid reason for pushing back start date for another job?
Is there any benefit to having chase sapphire preferred and Amex gold (already have preferred card)? The 4x dining for Amex is appealing, but they both seem like travel/airline cards
What do you do when you are unassigned for a week. I love 45 min away from the office (without traffic)? Can I just work from home?
