If you're in the mountains, what's charger accessibility and electrical reliability like during the colder months? Maybe you're safer with a hybrid electric?
This is Interesting. Definitely something to think about. Thank you.
Because I wanted it. If you are looking for it to justify itself economically or practically, you are just looking for reasons to talk yourself out of it. If you really want it, go for it and you will find a way to make it work.

I’m just happy they brought back the lightning name! I had been saying they should do that since last year lol.
Pretty good accessibility. Silverthorne, Colorado. It’s on the I-70 corridor. Can get back and forth to Denver plus on a charge. I can’t seem to justify a hybrid. Just seems like a half measure
If a hybrid is a half measure, potentially consider a plug in hybrid, which would be something like a 3/4 measure. And to be fair to gas hybrids, unless you are able to charge on a renewable energy source, gas hybrids are incredibly efficient, with the added bonus that you can drive across the state and back on a single tank.
The wife and I are waiting on the Nissan Ariya. Her sis is an engineer for Nissan and says the models she’s seen / sat in look pretty 🔥 https://www.nissanusa.com/ariya.html?dcp=psn.58700006154616330&gclid=CjwKCAjwqIiFBhAHEiwANg9szqLCDsRN5_d3t7tkJYF69uTQhC0DozRUJWZ5bpnntlsAXsU2pXLrEBoCmdsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

OP, what’s the driver for getting an electric vehicle? Is it gas cost? Is it the environment? If it’s the latter, EVs are a pretty bad idea.

Get a used Toyota hybrid in the interim. In the next couple of years, the market will be flooded with EV, you will have more choices.
Have you considered the new electric hummer? Seems like a better fit for the mountains than model Y. https://www.gmc.com/electric/hummer-ev
Haha! I know this might not have been a joke, but 80K+ for that. Can’t do it.
My parents have GLE 350 (I think? Something like that) it’s a merc SUV plug-in hybrid. They use it mostly for just driving around their neighbourhood so the electric range isn’t great (maybe 50 miles) but gas kicks in seamlessly when battery runs out.
You electric people worry me. Get a truck! I am saving the environment every mile I drive. Can you pour oil or gasoline into the sewer? No! So…..I’m helping.
