Ignoring the racism here, these neighbourhoods are actually not diverse as they are particularly Black. I'm Black myself and wouldn't live in any of these neighbourhoods for "diversity" - these neighbourhoods are homogeneous.
Cambridge
East Boston is an up-and-coming neighborhood. Lots of beautiful apt buildings, waterfront and the neighborhood is very diverse
Here to second East Boston. I actually grew up there, and have returned post MBA. Love the neighborhood, people, and culture.
What kind of diversity and culture are you looking for? Somerville is great for culture (arts, music scene, etc) and also has some amazing restaurants. Boston in general is not known for its “diversity” and especially not for its “diversity of culture”.
Boston isn’t much of a melting pot
Somerville
Just moved here, Boston is definitely the first “white city” I’ve been in: what I mean by that is that most places in the city, the most visible group is White people, secondly East Asian groups. Cambridge is definitely one of the more diverse areas across age, race, etc etc
I’d avoid Mattapan. They nicknamed it murdapan 👀 check out Jamaica plain and Dorchester. I guess it depends on your ethnicity or what culture you’re looking for
Boston is one of the most segregated cities in the country
I know that's why I asked the bowl 😅
Diverse is a loose term now a days. What are you looking for?
