Anyone with insights on jumping from big 4 to tech product management roles.. what was your role at big 4 when you did and how was the interview process
Debating on leaving Big 4. Not exactly sure what I would want to do outside Big 4... any ideas for research areas?
Those of you that left Big 4...how long did it take you to find another job? I physically can’t take this place anymore and thinking about giving my two weeks tomorrow. I can live off savings for a co
I did an internship with a boutique consulting firm that got extended for a full year while I was in school full time as well. On top of that I have 16 months of experience in my B4/T2 consulting firm, and I have a ton of other experience on top of that interning at banks and startups. TLDR; I have 3+ years of experience, 1 year at a small consulting shop and 1.5 years at B4 upon graduation. Is it true that none of this experience really counts?
People who have transferred from Big 4 into IB, was it worth it? Has it met your expectations thus far? Very interested to learn more.
I am looking for some advice or opinions to apply for consulting jobs right now. I currently work at a mid-sized/regional firm, but plan move to a different city later this year. I have ~4 yr xp working on system implementations, IT policies/controls, and BPO, but my undergrad GPA wasn't the best (I did become a CPA and CISA though). Should I try to apply to big 3/big 4? Stay mid-sized? Get an MBA or Masters? Move and pray? Thanks in advanced for any comments!
What is a decent salary for an advisory consultant in the DMV/Washington DC area? Wondering how my offer stacks up, have 2 years of prior B4 audit experience
Which Big 4 has the best benefits?
Do the Big 4 in large cities require a car? Chicago, New York, LA, Seattle, etc. Mostly interested in Seattle.
Do Big 4 give more time to settle down in the new job compared to a mid size? Does it work the same way when people are asked to improve before the firing i.e, big 4 gives more time to improve?
If I have an offer from a competing B4 dated 6months ahead, do I need to notify when I accept/sign or that 6months later?
What does M&A consulting at big 4 look like, especially at the entry level? All my previous experience is in audit/tax and I know nothing about consulting, just wanted to try something new. I liked my finance courses in undergrad, but not sure how relevant that is. Would I have ANY transferable skills from my accounting background? Can you explain what the work is like for a new hire? Especially if you've made a similar switch?
Current S1 here. Is it okay if my resume experience is just: B4 Internship > Associate > Senior? (All in the same firm/practice) Never done other internships. The only other thing I could include is a student assistant job I had in college. Not sure if that's even relevant. Guess just the progression at this 1 firm is enough? Just looks a bit incomplete on the resume.
Are there good exits in Australia other than big 4 banks? Market is so much smaller than US 😞
From one Desi to fellow Desi reaching out for help ! I have had some luck with MBB firms but failed to convert. I am currently Senior Manager at big 4 with end to end SC experience. I will highly appreciate if folks from MBB/exMBB could spare time to provide me some guidance.
How does the new rule impact on amendment? Big 4 has promotion typically every year and which require amendments. Do you think this will effect current H1 holder?
How much are the hourly rates for the seasonal contractors at the B4 firms? Especially in tax. Thanks
I just cancelled my Chase Sapphire Reserve card. I transfer my credit to my freedom card to not hurt credit score as much. How long must I wait to open up the Sapphire Preferred card and get the sign on bonus?
Applying to T15 in R2. Currently have a 700 GMAT (43Q, 41V) after taking once. Even if I raise my quant to 47, which would be impressive for me, I’ll still be at a 700 (possibly 710). 3.6 undergrad GPA. Worth retaking? Or just focus on the rest of my applications?
I’m on a small high burn project team.. joined about 2 months ago.. but I’ve realized that we’re burning out. We’ve been working from 8:30 AM to 7/7:30 PM with no breaks in the middle and take calls from 10 onwards that go up to 11:30 PM.. 1. Is this normal and reasonable? 2. If not, what is the best way to bring this up to my M (being a newbie)?
Currently talking to recruiters for a new job and it is honestly such a turnoff when they talk too much about having a strong company culture and/or talking about making sure I'm a good fit culturally. For me that borders on culty and is a red flag. I would much rather hear from a recruiter that a workplace's "culture" is that they are accepting of all cultures, diversity, and personality types.
I got laid off and 3 weeks later a SC from HR sends me an email about an opening at the firm. Should I apply???
If, during an interview, one is faced with a question they are not 100% on, how kosher is it to frame it with "I'm not exactly sure but I believe this is what XYZ means/entails" as opposed to "I don't know" - I don't want to make it seem like I have 0 knowledge of a topic but I also don't want to come across like I'm making things up or totally guessing...
2 YOE in financial services Corporate Strategy hoping to transition to tech, will be heading to an M7 MBA next year. Looking for a pre-MBA internship at a tech-driven startup before then - please let me know if you have any leads!
I got a $8,000 raise for year end and promotion, and no bonus. I just got written offer from other big 4 for 40k more then I am making at Deloitte.
Considering looking for a new sales management role. I’ve only had “promote from within” sales manager roles where I started as an IC and continue to manage my book while selling. I’d like to make a switch and start in a management only role. Any recommendations on companies? I have 6 years of top producing IC sales experience and a little over 4 years of management experience.
Hey all! Has anyone heard of or currently working for Elixirr? They call themselves “a challenger consultancy”, but I heard their culture is very toxic. Any thoughts? Thanks for sharing!

Was at an event recently. Seems like advertising really only cares about diversity as it applies to white women. I think this industry wants to stay white.

I’ve been hanging with a coworker and their significant other a lot lately and I’m starting to get a crush on my coworker’s partner...and I think it might be mutual bc there’s a slight sensual tension whenever it’s just the two of us talking I left out gender on purpose just in case my coworker is on here lmao
