Is TCS currently providing wfh option? I had given interview in TCS 3-4 months back and was selected also. But the HR wasn't sure if I will have wfh or wfo.And I wanted wfh only so I left the offer. Now again I received call from TCS and now they are saying it's upon choice if I want wfh or wfo.So confused whether to go for interview or not.Does anyone know if they are providing wfh or wfo by choice? I'm currently at Mumbai location and as per the call from TCS it's on me what to choose. please advise 🙏

The expectation for HR to fix everything, all at once! I’ve worked for organizations where HR is still viewed as an overhead cost and is under resourced, but there are high expectations for HR to be delivering all sorts of programs, immediately responding to every inquiry big and small and magically fixing every engagement and retention issue without acknowledging management’s shared responsibility.
Yes, I agree!!!
The general stereotypes that HR is only for women or HR does nothing significant in the organisation. And most funny is HR only does events and rangolis. Such comments come from non HR background people. 😉
People not reading emails or responding to requests, then urgently emailing HR when they need something and acting like the world is on fire.
I totally overstand !
Often being the scape goat when difficult decisions are made, but only ever being in a position to advise. The worst is having to enforce or implement policies that don't align with my values.
Absolutely agreed on enforcing policies that don’t align with my values! It’s a big reason why I’m shifting away from Human Resources..
People😂
Being overworked, under-paid, and unappreciated 🤷🏼♀️
THIS. The pay disparity between other roles that are viewed as more valuable or technical. It’s gotten better but we’re still fighting the stigma of being “admin people”
Recruitment. Mostly from an internal perspective as hiring managers rarely know what they're looking for, have reasonable demands/requirements for a person to meet to fill the role, are uncompromising in understanding the realities of the job market, and typically go for whoever will accept the lowest salary but get confused when that person is not the best person for the job. And somehow it all comes back on HR for not giving them the best candidates.
And what makes it even worse is having to represent the company to candidates when I know we're acting in bad faith and the candidates know it.
Yes! The cycle of hiring and firing (+ being in charge of both) makes this difficult as well.
That were generally still viewed as admin party planners and “personnel”. I want to help you run the business, through people. Don’t forget about the damn people!
Yes, yes, yes!!!!!!!
Payroll
My thoughts exactly .
People seem to assume everything is an emergency because it affects someone. Missing a punch? Emergency. Need FMLA paperwork? Emergency. Haven't received benefits card? Emergency. Someone was bold enough to pull me out of a manager's meeting to ask for the info to start a STD claim 🤦♀️
The sense of entitlement. Everyone has an emergency and they want it yesterday.
Partners (or business owners) that think we are just administrative assistance and not advisors.
This. If I hear "that's an admin job" one more time...
I’m surprised no one has mentioned this Covid case/vaccine tracking and recommendation project that has been going on for two years. I work in a healthcare company and am totally shocked the clinical staff didn’t get more involved in this versus HR.
Seriously though! Handling covid was a full time job at times. Another stressful task to add to our plates in which nobody appreciates.
Being a void that people constantly scream into. If someone is having a bad day/shift/week, there is no hesitation to fire off a long ranting email to HR (usually in the middle of the night). Many don’t even bother to say “hello” or “thank you”. Then, after taking the time to collect information and follow up with the employee in the proper way with a phone call or meeting, they say “oh it’s fine now. Forget it.”…only to fire off the same e-mail a week later to inform us they’re even more upset, and that nothing was done. They may be venting in the moment, but I’m certain most of our people forget that an actual person reads these emails.
Agreed!!! So frustrating!
Feeling like I'm not being heard, and disregarding sound HR advice.
The underutilization of tech
Entitled people!
1) Representing policies that I don’t agree with or that don’t align with my values
2) Lack of resources, especially at growing companies - it seems like we’re always given the resources we needed a year ago, not the ones we need for the current company size and workload
3) Lack of recognition - lots of blame but little gratitude, and not being included in things like the retention bonuses we help implement for everyone else
Yes! Yes! Yes! Human Resources is so important to business operation but rarely is there a set budget or adequate support to perform our jobs.
How everyone in the business knows how to do all things HR!
This is my life. Even terminated employees have Googleable HR advice, lol.
Relying on others to make things happen. I am in recruiting.
People are quick to throw HR under the bus
When other managers hide problems from you but need you to clean up their mess when they make poor decisions. 🙄
