usdc seen in isolation is not a problem. the real problem arises when you keep on seeing all benefits going to core . usdc is kept in loop in all those communication sounding as if it is all one Deloitte but core gets the lion share .. thats where it pains when it is usdc actually that does the technical work . ppl at usdc are putting in equal if not more efforts yet the hikes bonus are hugely moved to core not to mention the poor benefits usdc has . in short usdc is a 2nd class citizen at D whatever reasons may be . avoid usdc
Agree with D4 and D10
Been with USDC for over 4 years. No complaints here. Love my project and the team I'm on. Those that complain accepted an offer and later complain about what they make and the work they do and think grass is greener elsewhere and like to compare themselves to core consulting without understanding the differences and refuse to understand. Is it the best paid job, probably not, is it the most glorious work, no probably not. But it's a great work life balance option that pay pretty well consider the balance.
Not me sitting here with graduate degrees and making under 70k as an Analyst in USDC wondering how... and why.
I love the usdc. I haven’t had a bad experience yet !
I have had some okay experiences but the USDC suffers from an enormous “grass is greener” problem. Many people with high demand skillsets either leave or just join core since budgets don’t support their actual worth.
The benefits are genuinely worse than core and the pay is significantly different. The only real differentiator, travel, is not supposed to be a differentiator anymore. I don’t see this model surviving unless it’s strictly billed as near-zero travel and they improve the pay/benefits.

The USDC wouldn’t be a problem if Core and the pandemic didn’t exist. Getting paid far less for the same work is a tough pill to swallow, especially when no one is traveling anymore.
That said, I’ve worked at a bunch of other places and this is by far the best. I notice that a lot of people complaining usually haven’t worked anywhere else.
100% agree D16. I have SM coming to me to answer questions and help them. I'm a USDC consultant. They're paid 3x what I make and I'm helping them, explaining to them, programming things for them...
USDC is just to get your foot into the door for core. Avoid if you can. You’ll be working alongside core doing the same work for a fraction of salary and benefits are not the same
It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just that USDC benefits aren’t as good as core, you have less time allowed on the bench, and honestly you’re often doing the same amount of client work as someone who is being paid more than you.
I generally recommend to do USDC for a year or two at most to get experience/networking and then use the Deloitte name to get a better job elsewhere

Usdc 🚩🚩🚩🚩
I came in as an experienced hire from the non-profit sector (education). USDC pay and work-life balance are exponentially better than I ever experienced before.
Heres a really controversial take: Deloitte Views USDC as second class employees because a significant portion of them are on Visas and they know that in comparison to being USI many of the USDC practitioners are happy.
In relation to being a normal Deloitte employee ymmv because WLB is on a project per project basis. If ALL of USDC projects guaranteed WLB then the benefits and pay discrepancy would be reasonable. The people that are happy obviously have good projects and those that arent dont. Id say as a whole 20% deloitte projects have a good wlb with no real change for USDC
All the best 😏😔
