My mom and I did a Secrets resort and really liked it! I was nervous about it being too couples focused, but there was a good mix of people. Beautiful property and the spa and food was higher quality than others I’ve been to.
We did secrets maroma beach. We did about 4 days and liked the close proximity to the Cancun airport. I will tell you the beach itself was a little disappointing and had a lot seaweed. I think that was a general problem for the entire region due to recent weather. Otherwise everything was top notch!
My best friend and I just went to an adults only resort in Negril. It’s smaller than the chain ones and it has all inclusive options. It’s called Spa Retreat Boutique Hotel. Only potential drawback is I don’t know if they have double bed options. Otherwise: scenery was breathtaking( it was on the cliffs), food was delicious, about 10 minutes to 7 mile beach and town center. Rockhouse hotel is another, though I’m not sure they’re adults only.
Always wanted to try Grand Velas but prices seem really high. Was it worth the increase from say a Secrets or similar?
