Hi All, I'm working as a TL for a reputed project from the last 3 years. The worst part is TCS doesn't give TL Role on papers until you become band 3. I'm on my Notice period and my lwd is 29th October. I don't have any offers in my hand. No retention offered except my managers asking me to stay back. Anyone who'd like to suggest job openings? Total experience - 9 years TCS experience - 6.6 years TL ( Not On Papers Yet ) - 3 years. Current CTC - 7.04LNewco Accenture Infosys Wipro

Finding f*cking Dory. OMG
Which role has a good pay and a good wlb?

The “extra mile” is the reason why we have an overworked, exhausted and toxic culture. It’s the reason we undersell deals and burn through people quickly. Enjoy it, learn to take advantage of the work/life balance you can achieve. Reframe your view of what’s valuable and what’s not. Like it or not that “extra mile” often pays off only in the short term at the expense of our teams.
I hated when when we had US leadership for our Canadian projects . Most of the time they worked more hours and had less care for work life balance .
I then found out they were getting paid almost 1.3-1.5x for the same roles as their Canadian counter parts BEFORE currency difference.
I preferred the Canadian way as I was happy and actually had a life , even if I was getting paid less . I hated when I had to work American hours and life the American lifestyle while getting Canadian level salary .
^very much agree to this. Left the US at USD 152K to come here at CAD 112K, same position - and promotion-ready.

Yup. We’re very passive aggressive 😂

I think they’re internally figuring out whether to use metric. If I had this going in my brain all the time I know I’d only be able to produce 70% of what I do in the US

Sounds like Canada to me
Care less
Also in Canada we’re getting paid SO much less than the US - even less analogous to the work we do than it was in the US, even if the bar feels lower. I moved from NYC to Toronto about 3yrs ago. So, balance your effort.
Everyone in Canada starts their emails with a greeting like "Hi name," or "Hey name".
US emails just go: "Name,"

I’ve never experienced this in the US. Maybe it’s only in the east coast?

Sooo they value the things that matter in life more? Seems like we should all aspire to their model

What made you move ?
Same here
Why did you move ?
So, people on this thread are telling me that working for Accenture in Canada is like working for Slalom in US. You get paid little less, for the exchange of better wlb.
