Yeah call it a developing country and don’t put pics with the local children on your tinder account

Was in Mexico City. Now in LA.
Yes, I agree to some extent.
You’ll probably gain more experience quicker in developing countries but you may have to take a step or two back when you return to the US. (At least that was my experience )

like

Pace is much quicker & more efficient back in States. With that comes more expectations and people are not as easy going in my experience. I prefer work environment & pacing of USA but lifestyle in developing countries

EP1 where were you? Where are you now? Would you agree that line production experience in developing countries is regarded as less prestigious than work in the states?

Ask yourself why you feel you need to come back first. It’s going to be hard to break in given the current landscape without a Rolodex.

EP1 do you need an assistant?

@Director it’s gonna be hard to break in the current landscape *with* a Rolodex. It’s 2018. No one has a Rolodex

@Producer OP unfortunately not... there’s currently not enough work going around to warrant it

What is the most useful technical or soft skills for any mechanical engineer to have where you work? I’m curious to know what really matters for everyone and what makes a big impact on the team and business.

Specifics if you can; CAD tools, simulation, CAD speed or proficiency, industry or standards knowledge, GD&T, certifications, Microsoft Excel, presentation skills, technical writing, project management, self organization, great communication, teaching ability, relationship building, etc.

In myCompetency portal, my primary skill is being displayed as X, where my primary skill is Y. When I tried to change it, it goes to my approver for approval and she's declined to approve it with reason that your interview was taken for X technology however it is not correct, my interview was taken on Y technology only.

Also, she mentioned that your current project is based on your X competency so we can't change it.

Does it make sense to jump from Strategy& to either LEK or ZS, if the ultimate goal is to end up in industry (Big Pharma)? Asked another way, does either LEK, or ZS boost exit opps into Big Pharma, more so than Strategy&, if already working on Life Sciences engagements while at Strategy&? Do folks hiring in industry even know the differences between these firms to justify hopping from one to the other for an industry exit?

I just listened to an interview of a creative director recount their path towards copywriting at a famous ad agency. It could not have been a more textbook case of failing upwards as a white man.

It would seem the only thing you need to make it as an advertising creative is to have lots of not particularly original ideas. Practically every other skill is unnecessary. If you’re a white man.

That this level of mediocrity passes for talent explains why so many agency briefs are so lame.
