Moved to a new role where I need to use excel a lot more than I previously have. Can anyone recommend good courses to sharpen up my skills/improve my speed?

Start with Linkedin learning - several good free Excel courses. See if your company has any courses available

Totally forgot about LI learning. Thanks!

There's also a helpful excel bowl on here if you have specific questions that a quick Google search doesn't help with.

Ugh, I would look for a new role. Sorry. I'm good at Excel by necessity, but I really hate it tbh.

Lol idk about that dramatic of a decision. Just transitioned from a relatively sophisticated data environment to F50 life where everything runs on excel.

I recently worked with a recruiter from Robert Half for a position they contacted me about but I ended up not getting an offer. Recruiter mentioned that if I am interested in other job listings they can help me get more information, etc. My question for you all, what are the pros/cons of getting them involved with getting more info about listings I see? The experience I had with RH was mostly positive. I think the negatives were with the company and not RH.

In July, I got the call from the partnership that I should begin to “explore other options.” I always knew when I left, whether on my terms or not, I would exit to finance. It’s been a rough transition. Been pretty discouraged and hit a low point of shame & apathy in August. Just wanted to say that I finally landed my first formal PE and IB interviews this week and am beginning to feel hopeful again! I think it’s all gonna work out.

So...I recently started a new position (within the past year). While I like the practice area, I'm not a huge fan of the type of work I'm doing. I'm a new lawyer. I had planned to stay in this position for years, but I've learned there is very little chance that I will get to do any litigation. Most of the attorneys at my job were previously trial attorneys and they took this position for the slower pace and regular hours. I'm worried about moving on too quickly. Thoughts?

I currently have a “retainer” agreement set up with a client for a certain number of deliverables over the course of a month and a half. They told me it would not be big lift, so we agreed on “half day” rates. Obviously, once the work got started it became more than a half day. Now they are trying to add more deliverables and think it should be included in our scope. I think I should charge them for the extra deliverables. What do you think?
