Hey guys need some ideas..in your companies how you are bringing up new technologies and new ideas to the team.i am.part of r&d team and is planning for getting people involved in innovative ideas.as part of that we are thinking how we can get people feel interested on this activity.Any inputs if any such things are happening in your organization?? Add more intermediate deliverables. Don't commit to work you know you'll need to redo. Boss should be fine with it, since redoing work all the time is a waste of time.

My manager used to be exactly like that! But during the one-on-one yearly review I told him that I get really get unproductive at work when I get vague instructions/expectations.
I did not have option of switching my job becoz of work visa restrictions. Turns out he recognized the problem and begin working on his behaviour. Now, we are really good friends :)

Yes I agree. Tell the person how you are feeling and check with them throughout the process to make sure you are on the right track.
