Recently started in-house from private practice, a few months in. New company has had 2 rounds of layoffs since I resumed. I’m getting nervous. Should I be looking to jump ship? I feel my role is valuable to the company but the layoffs have been indiscriminate. Great performers, ok performers, new employees, older employees! I have a family to support and can’t afford to be out of a job in the coming months. Any advice or similar past experiences?

Hi! I would love recommendations on how to be a better writer. I know in order to be a good writer, you have to read a lot of good writing. Ironically, this makes me much more insecure about my own writing and leaves me sounding very stiff and inauthentic. I'm wondering if there are more tangible resources than just reading. Specifically around finding confidence in your own voice, style and way of storytelling.

I’ve been asked by my boss to send him some portfolio sites of art directors we might want to work with. Are there any directory-type websites/search terms people find helpful? I’m new to this.

I'd like to practice writing tv as much as I can, even outside of work. I'm not motivated enough to write scripts on my own. I'd like to volunteer writing tv ads for a non-profit or something similar. Does anybody know of a site for something like this?
