Moving from a miserable IB job for a small pay cut, but I can now actively trade without compliance giving me trouble. After rent & taxes, I’ve got about 10k per month to save; what’s the best asset allocation / distribution for a 24 year old who has a longish horizon and average risk tolerance?
They irony of an investment banker asking everyone else for the best asset allocation for their investments.
IB doesn’t do anything with the market lol
Bogleheads.org Go with their 3 overarching suggestions. Covers it all. And throw in something focused on tech, for example the QQQ. And you’ll be golden.
What’s your comp as a VC associate that gives you $10k a month to invest?
With how carry / bonus works, hard to say. But 200k would be a disappointing year.
I’d just stick it all in equity, tracking a large index (sp500, total us stock market, etc.).
Just find a solid large/mid cap growth fund and contribute healthily and regularly. I like primecap funds (POGRX)
Vanguard capital appreciation or international growth is good too. Long time horizon is good.
