Moving to international from salt. I know it’s a highly technical and complex area. Any recommendations on what to read up on before getting into the thick of it?

Good luck! Is that what you currently practice?

Why did you switch? For more money? Or more interesting work?

100% for my own interest personally. I practiced international law (nontax) prior to going B4 and miss examining things on a macro scale.

I’m about to accept a position at an information services company for a marketing coordinator position. They are offering 62k out of a 55k-65k range that I was quoted, and that aligns with my research. It’s much more than what I’m making now, but I thought it would be smart to run this by you all before signing the dotted line. This would be my first time as a marketing coordinator—I’m bringing in 5+ years from an adjacent industry to the table, if that gives perspective. WDYT? Thank you!

Hi Everyone,
I hope life is treating you well.
I recently moved to Ottawa from Louisville, Kentucky, and I am looking for an accounting job in Ontario or Quebec. I have work experience in Tax& Finance and an MBA in Accounting. I was wondering if any of you could refer me for an open position in your company ( after we’ve had a chance to talk, of course) or put me in contact with a member of your hiring team.
Please let me know if any of you would be comfortable doing so.

Thanks,
Sarah

I am currently working in Deloitte but have signed a PwC offer. Just realized my current salary after the compensation release is $2k higher than PWC. Before I signed the offer, PWC told me the experienced associate salary can’t be negotiated. What should I do right now? It feels sad to see 2k leave me for no reason. Should I talk to PWC and ask for a raise?
Please help!!

I just found out that my CPA failed to file my returns and submit payment on time even though they confirmed on the 18th that it was going to be filed that day. I do corporate taxes and have extremely limited experience in personal taxes. What should I be concerned about here other than the penalty and late fees for their negligence?
