A good piece of feedback that I’ve been given about giving feedback is “Consider. Try. Do.” First round, suggest things for them to consider. Second round, ask them to try those things. Third round, if they haven’t brought you back an alternate creative solution, tell them to do what you asked. It gives them room to find solutions as opposed to you handing them over. But also gets things done when push comes to shove.

I like that. Big fan of "consider" and "try". I definitely get more direct in quicker turn scenarios.

I’m 12 weeks pregnant (and very excited for it!) and not super loving my job, but was planning to stick it out for the maternity leave. At what stage of the interview process do I mention that I am expecting?

Hi All! Cross-posting this to the ATL bowl, but I have a fabulous nanny in the Atlanta area that I will be sad to let go of in another few months. I have a vested interest in seeing her land an amazing family that will take care of her as well as she will take care of their children. She is young, vibrant, and creative - she shows tremendous initiative (she instituted her own lesson plans with our child at 1). She is very conscientious, respectful, and helpful to a fault. I’m in a predicament. I just started as a senior at a new role in a v25 and just found my wife is pregnant. This firm knows I had a baby a year ago as well and took pat leave (at my prior firm). Any hesitation I should have requesting pat leave here now? Timing definitely sucks but it is what it is.

Not in consulting, on the industry side now. Would it be messed up if I left my company for a new role while manager is on parental leave? It was way easier leaving consulting but I feel more guilty about this
