Paul went on IG Live this afternoon after Karine called the police. I have not watched the video, but bloggers report that Paul accused Karine of drinking in front of their son, domestic violence (shoving him), giving him an STD, and being pregnant again. The video ends with Karine asking to be taken to a shelter. Very sad.

Lakeway is nicer, more affluent city. Leander is a nice suburb.
We have homes in Steiner and Leander. We like the Steiner area better for schools and commute. Although there are a lot more transplants in Leander area so it’ll be easy to make friends I guess.
Rising Star
If you plan to come into the office at all, I feel like Lakeway is an easier commute. Great schools, too. I think housing prices may be less expensive in Leander and a bit more diversity there, too. Lakeway is wealthy and white.
Can you afford Lakeway? If yes, that's one of the best places to live in Austin. Ridiculously expensive.
Cedar Park, Round Round, Pflugerville for a more diverse and I'd say socially stronger environment.
They are more socially diverse so baby will mingle with people from many different backgrounds which prepares them to adapt as global citizens. That's what I mean by socially stronger.
100% Lakeway. Much closer to town, much better restaurants, but housing is generally going to be much more expensive.
Totally different worlds. Lakeway is a very established and older area. Leander is a newer suburb. Both are like little towns they have grown so much. I tend to like the Lakeway area more in that there are big trees and beautiful views. There is a certain vibe with living so close to the lake too. I think Leander has more family’s with young kids. Both have good schools. If your coming from a place with many malls and chain restaurants Leander will be familiar and comfortable. Lakeway can be much more expensive though.
Look at South Austin as well. We love the Circle C area, and the schools here are above average.
Agreed. Look at southwest Austin for a good ROI, 20 min commute to downtown, and for the south Austin vibes. Also commuting south to downtown is generally easier than north to downtown. Circle C/Reunion Ranch / Rim Rock are all great neighborhoods worth considering, the last 2 being in the desired dripping springs ISD.
I lived in Leander. I shop and eat in Lakeway a lot. Leander is very family oriented. I don't think either of these places is closer to downtown, plus with a baby you won't be going downtown much unless you work there. Leander is middle class families and growing, plenty of restaurants, while Lakeway is wealthier but in a way that I don't find inspiring at all. Leander is younger and more relatable. Lakeway is older and more snooty and more conservative. The highway 620 runs through Lakeway and there's no sense of place there, speaking as someone who hasn't lived there. Whereas there are community events in Leander. I would strongly recommend Leander unless you're an older person who wants to be on a boat a lot and wear a lot of jewelry while getting a fake tan.
This made me LOL! I bet your description of Westlake is even better.
Lakeway is a lot more $$’s then Leander. Lakeway has better schools though.
Lakeway/Steiner Ranch/ Bee Cave are all great options
Pro
Bee cave >>
Is there a reason those are the only two options? Id pick leander. You can get more land. 183 makes them virtually the same distance. Better ROI
Bout to move to dripping springs! Great schools and plenty more development coming. North is pretty flat unless you’re looking at Travisso near Leander.
They both suck in their own way so just pick your suburban poison.
Team Leander
Nice - I’m in Grand Mesa 👍
Lakeway
Why live so far out?
Lakeway
Lakeway / Bee Cave
Lakeway but much more expensive
Does diversity matter to you, if so leander / cedar park will be much more diverse than lakeway.
Both have a lot of new developments happening, can't go wrong with either. Bell district (cedar park), Northline (leander), Nebraska furniture mall (cedar park, the squares of lohmans (lakeway)
Leander has more people and is next to cedar park so much more established and built out.
Lakeway is an sleepier city that's transitioning from a retiremeney city to a younger since the pandemic.
