Researching, looking for and applying for jobs in Canada can be a lengthy process — perhaps much longer than what you are used to, as you establish connections in your new home. This means: Bring enough funds to tide you through your first few months. Be prepared to take on a non-career job in the short term but always be on the lookout for your next career move. Lastly, begin to think and act Canadian before you even set foot in Canada. This means adapting to the resume format in Canada, networking and being proactive.

Instead of a sweater, go with thermals. Temperature will be freezing. If possible, keep your AC at 16°C
Better to buy clothes (winter as well as summer) from Canada itself.

Awesome awesome. Carry your essential items from here and try to get winter clothing from there! Don’t carry your woollen clothes all the way up there, pack your essentials like some utensils maybe, some specific electronic or household item that might be scare at the neighbourhood you’re going to!
Also before you pack, know the stores around where you’ll stay and know what do they have so you can plan shopping ahead
Buy your winter clothes there. Do not buy it here. The people there are kind so be the same. Good luck on your new adventure!
Best of luck on the move!
OP, do let me know your experience. I am moving in October
