~500 sq ft studio in midtown near Central Park. I pay $2,800 a month for rent (though right now you could easily get a place in my building for $500-$600 less than that thanks to COVID). All utilities included except for electric. Since heat is included and not electric, I pay about $60-$80 a month for utilities in the winter months, more like $150 a month in the summer months. Peak summer months will get over $200 at its worst due to AC
What building is this bc I’m looking in that area

I have a luxury apart with floor to ceiling windows and it can get up to 400 depending on how warm/ cold it is. Be aware of that.
I have a penthouse in Manhattan with floor to ceiling windows as well and can confirm the utilities bill is $300-400 per month.
What happens is the sun gets magnified by the glass which lands on the floor, heating up the entire apt. Similarly, in the winter you lose heat due to the cold glass.
I used to pay $30 at my old place (50th floor of a new high rise in BK) for 1000sq foot. Moved to the top floor of a brownstone w less sq footage and it’s about $80. Both includes heating and AC
I used to live in a luxury apartment in bk. Heat and electricity was not included for a 3 BR and the bill was up to 500 in the winter. +1 to what attorney1 said, I had floor to ceiling windows.
I’m in Astoria now 2BR, and only pay for electricity. it’s around 60 in the winter and 150 in the summer.

$60 WiFi, $60-$120 electric&gas depending on the season, $11 renters insurance. Heat and water should always be included. I live in a studio.

Large 1Bed in a prewar co-op, usually between 80-160 for gas and electric (in the summer we run two window AC units).
50~60 for Wifi. electric bill fluctuates but typically about 50 for my studio apartment.
950 sq ft 3bed-1.5bath Prewar. Gas included but we pay electric. $100 in Winter, $300 in Summer. We budget $200 a month a d whatever we don’t use goes to a savings account to pay for the overage in the summer.
$60 wifi, $35/month flat fee to have 2 in window ac units (total), no other utilities (building covers gas/electric and water beyond the ac fee)
1 bedroom apt for context
I’m in a 1br in fidi, ~700 sq ft. Pay around $50 a month on average for electricity year-round (I’m pretty careful about using heat/ac though). Gas and water are included. TV/internet is about $150/month.
I’m in a one bedroom in Brooklyn around 600 sq ft. Pay $50 for WiFi and ~$60 for gas and electricity
300 sq ft studio with floor to ceiling windows. $40-60 a month from sept to now
