Moving to Seattle in the near future and trying to decide between Ballard/Fremont...any thoughts on the two neighborhoods

Moved to Fremont recently/ new to Seattle- if you choose to live close to the ‘center of the universe’ it’s been really nice. Apparently it’s a lot more vibrant in times before the pandemic. Not as many restaurants as Ballard; and less # of apartments; but - proximity to Ballard, Greenlake, UW area and downtown - all work great. Also the Burke Gilman trials a nice plus.

I left a great rental condo Ballard (near commons park and market street) with many amenities and close to many fun restaurants and other things. The area has changed greatly in the past few years with a great acceleration since covid. Expect - package thefts, car break ins, car thefts, drug use on streets, needles left everywhere (watch everywhere your dog walks or sniffs...), your bicycle will likely be stolen and then expect to see bicycle chop shops on corners, strung out people that are violent, people defecating on side walks. Fremont has a lot of these same qualities as well. I would recommend spending some time in the neighborhoods before you commit to a lease to see if you find the benefits to outweigh the flaws.

Very similar neighborhoods. I like Ballard for good restaurants

Don’t live near Ballard Commons.

The area has kinda gone to sh*t since the city stopped clearing encampments. Petty crime in the area (but also including burglaries, theft and drug use) is rampant. It’s a gathering point for transients in the city much like Cal Anderson and Denny Park in downtown. I’ve had nights where you’ll have people screaming all hours of the night (in obvious mental distress) and the cops won’t do anything about it and it’s not like social workers are out walking the streets at night.

Just my two cents.

I was promoted in January and promised to get a raise sometime in the summer. Due to Covid we all got 10% pay cuts instead. When is a good time to bring this up? I should add we’ve been hiring people (5 people in my department alone) and winning new business.

Haven’t tapped this bottle of Knappogue Castle for a little while, and it’s now the last dram. That means room to open another something new!

I have a couple of unopened bottles and I anticipate this will stay a staple in my minibar.

Was talking to a guy but it’s not going to work out because I’m a Scorpio.
He previously dated Scorpio girls and it didn’t work out. So he asked me to prove him wrong by not being like them.
I just think this is so ridiculous because I’ve had horrible experiences with men in the past and I am obviously scared to go through the same. But that doesn’t mean that I ask him to prove me wrong or whatever.
People are so weird lol.

I’ve been struggling with a partner who is very hard to reach when there are items that need their sign-off asap. I have to send multiple follow-up emails and calls to get a response. Perhaps they expect me to handle things more independently, but I am a recent lateral (3rd year) and don’t want the partner to blame me for not checking with them first. Ideally, I want to take on less work from them (central staffing) and do more for other partners. Any advice/how would you handle this situation?

Is EY GDS wfh continue in future what's the plan please share if we have to go to office regularly or a hibrid culture or opt for wfh?

Boutique or big 4?

I'm currently an ops manager at a big 4 in London and received an offer from a small boutique firm with 25-30% pay rise.

I'm also in the process with Accenture but I feel like I'm not sure if I'd jump just for the money but also change in environment.
What type of things would you be asking yourself if you were in my shoes and debating to jump ship?
