I recommend the great nation of CHAZ. It will solve all the world's problems. Truly, a beacon for innovation and thought leadership.
I support chop/chaz
Yes, I’m from Seattle and grew up on Beacon Hill. Try to live within walking distance of the light rail station. That will get you to downtown and Bellevue via public transportation. You’re also really close to the freeway. Redmond is much further though.
I live in Redmond and if you choose to live near the light rail, there’s some link+bus options you can take. Still a long-ish commute though

Definitely move to CHOP
NBH is not too bad but rent can be similar to the hot spots like cap hill depending on how you live. If you’re renting an entire place it’s definitely cheaper and if it’s a shared place it’s about the same. All said and done and living in seattle for 2 years I much prefer the central district or cap hill area. I like walking to the bars/restaurants. Keep in mind that parking can be a nightmare though and that won’t be an issue in NBH. Commutes to the East side (Bellevue etc) is great but to downtown will be hit or miss bc of general downtown traffic and terribly limited parking.
Also lmk if you’d like to further chat. Happy to give advice and be a new friend in town :)
I live in Capitol Hill. Capitol Hill, belltown, SLU, East queen Anne are all great places. Bellevue is good too but except restaurants, a mall and parks, there are not many entertainment avenues (bars etc)... Still I love Bellevue. Redmond is boring. First Hill has many hospitals and the highway is close, so make sure you visit the apartment and see how sound proof it is before signing a lease. Also a lot of homeless in that area, who enter the apartment corridors etc., and smoke.
Since the corona, people are taking apartments in far-away/cheaper locations. Connectivity is good. Lots of cheap apartments in University district too since the University are closed now.
