Moving to Toronto in a few weeks. Would prefer to stay downtown so that everything is within walking distance and so that it feels less lonely. Does anyone have recommendations of locations in Toronto I can try finding accommodation at or any resources to find a good place to stay?

Tell us more about your situation. Are you bringing a spouse / kids? Will you be driving for work (to client sites)? Once things reopen, do you want to be close to the nightlife?

Single, female. Not into nightlife but love to explore and see new places as I've not visited Canada before. Will be WFH.

Check out Delsuites downtown & midtown options. I just moved a few days back.

High park, Roncesvalles, bloor west or annex will be great for you as a single female but try to live as close to the subway as possible. You will enjoy green areas in the summer, the downtown life, good coffee shops and restaurants but still you are far from all the noise. Deloitte office will be close to Eaton center but I wouldn't recommend that area for single female.

Thank you so much!

Def recommend Yonge/Eglinton or Yonge/Davisville area - lived there as a single female and loved it. Close enough to dt for convenience but far enough to feel safe. Only downside is the crosstown construction that feels like never going to end.

Am I an attractive candidate at all? Or is it silly to think I could jump soon for a comp increase? 1 yoe BAH fed (7 yoe in nonprofit sector before that), currently at 90k. Have some generalist certifications (agile, prosci, working on instructional design). Non-technical, no master’s. Resume is mostly attractive bc of extensive international/cross-cultural experience & DoS experience. Am I still too “meh” with only 1yoe & no tech skills?

I had an interview today for an assistant controller job and it’s working in an industry I’ve worked in a little but not much. They’re fine with that but I’m worrying that I oversold myself. They want me to be able to manage month end by myself and show progression within 90 days. I’m naturally sales minded so I’m sitting here wondering if I’d be setting myself up for failure and get fired. Thoughts?

Looking for advice/validation. Currently have about 10 credit cards (yes really!) About half are airline cards that I signed up for for the miles, quicker boarding, and free bags- but they carry a $100 annual fee. Other half are random no-fee cards (BoA, Amazon chase, capital one venture, west elm). My thought is to cancel the ones w an annual fee (just bought a house so no immediate need for higher credit limit). Does this make sense?

I'm a benefits director at a large company, and we're adding a fertility benefit starting Jan 1. It looks a lot like Deloitte's program (just noticing Deloitte a lot in this bowl), though ours will be slightly more generous with lifetime maxes. I'd love your feedback about what your employers do especially well or poorly, just to ensure we don't have huge blindspots as we roll it out from scratch. Honest feedback from people who are on this journey is appreciated!!
