MPH, MHA, or MHI. Advise on how to decide which program? My career includes process improvements, software implementations, clinical program integrations, & project management with hospital clients.

You might want to consider a healthcare-focused MBA. In my MHA program, most students came straight from undergrad and were pursing fellowships post-graduation. Your experience may make you a bit overqualified 😬

Best of luck!

like

I agree. A lot of MHA programs don’t have the same rigor as a MBA program. Top 5 MHA may land you the same role as a T25 MBA if you’re good and network hard.

Do you want more social context? If so mph

like

MBA or MHA if you're more on the business side. I've seen a lot of MPHs with global/international focus, though there are some MPH programs focusing on policy or administration.

Also recommend doing an Executive program. Like BCG1 said, a lot of MHA students are straight from undergrad. You'll like be in a room of 22 year olds with only hospital volunteer experience.

like

Having gotten an MPH, I’d strongly recommend against anyone else getting one. Unless you plan on getting into Epidemiology, a masters in public health just isn’t helpful in the real world (you need a PhD). I’ve recently started an EMBA program because those are the skills needed in the industry. As others have said, the MHA is more for people straight out of undergrad without real world experiences.

like

I appreciate all your responses and perspectives. I did not think about my experience level relative to those who would be enrolled in masters program. I agree and would make more sense that I look in to MBA versus EMBA programs.

Top MPH program in Epi or Biostats is worth it from a top university program, if your role needs these skills.

MPH in Health Policy and Administration is amazing content-wise, but you could learn this on your own via books/experience. Same for MHA from a brand name university.

Otherwise, top MBA with healthcare focus.
