Multiple calls today with a male client who dominates conversations, cuts me off, asks follow up questions when I’m in the middle of a sentence etc. How do I show I'm the one in charge??

Ummm. Hate to tell you...but you’re not in charge. And honestly it wouldn’t matter if it’s a man or woman. This type of customer will never be a client because they’re not respecting you. I don’t know specifics of how you acquired this person but definitely lack of trust happened somewhere.

Why does it matter it’s a male? I have calls like that all the time- clients do what they want since it’s their money. Be clear and concise and that’s it. You’re not in “charge” as you said, the client is. If you don’t like the guy fire him as a client, that’s the beauty of this business!

smart

Fire him. Disrespect

After you hang up, send an email follow up. Explain there were a few thoughts you weren’t able to fully articulate in your call. Do this after several conversations. Maybe he’ll get the hint. Reference these emails when you talk to him.

Multiple calls? That says it all

OP, are you female? I actually wanted to post about this topic myself. A while back there was some news article about the trend of men constantly interrupting women and just recently I’ve began to notice this since I started to speak up in meetings. The man always jump in and interrupt

VP, that’s excellent thinking in theory. The only problem is that in reality, men are notoriously terrible at taking hints!

As companies scale, they lose identity. I think that is happening to Deloitte too. There is distribution in terms of capability and now the middle of distribution is way too big. Just look at the list of questions posted here. Most are the same and shows no one is paying attention. It is same attitude on my project, 20% people doing 80% of work, others are just making noise and complaining all the time.

I recently started to date again and I’m currently dating someone who’s finishing up his masters in data science. I do some data analytics in my role (well my title for my client says data analytics consultant) but I work in strategy. He keeps asking me complex data science/data analytics questions (even tho he knows I don’t have a background in it) and jokes about if I even know what I’m doing at work. Am I taking this too seriously or is he always trying to put me down?

Had a consultant complain that I focus too much on formatting and thinks we should stop at good enough when it’s a random meeting/not key deliverable. Two thoughts: 1. Is there such a thing as good enough? I view it as formatted correctly or not and EVERYTHING that makes it in front of the client matters 2. If formatted correctly from the beginning we wouldn’t spend much time coaching and discussing format In a nice way I said suck it up, it’s important. Am I being unreasonable?

I’m currently working at a law firm in San Diego specializing in coastal property rights as a litigation paralegal and legal assistant. We received a minute order from a preliminary injunction hearing. Our client was ordered to post an injunction bond of $2,500. First our client walked to the courthouse to try to pay the bond up front, but they would not accept his money. He tried to call several bond companies, but all said the amount was too small. So how do you post an injunction bond?

What does Product Management in the Professional Services practice of a large SaaS company do?
