It’s probably going to be difficult to get an in-house attorney position without much experience but I’d suggest looking for positions where your language skills are required. Also if you were willing to consider a non attorney in-house role e.g., contract specialist. You may be able to turn that into an attorney role at the same company eventually.

A lot of companies pay $80-130k for contracts managers/contracts directors. It’s the same type of brainless work everyday. If you ask them what are the implications of a indemnification provision, most can’t explain it. It’s sad. I used to work with a contract director who we paid $110k/yr and she couldn’t properly redline NDA’s. One time the customer sent us a unilateral NDA which would have benefited us since we were the disclosing party and she redlined it and made it mutual. I asked her if she worked for our company or the other company? 🤣😂😂🤣😂

What is your prior work experience?

Search LinkedIn and Zip Recruiter. Maybe look in the tv/movie/media industry as they will definitely need a bilingual person to work overseas deals

Thank you. Will do.

Requires more research, but any company with significant operations in France or Quebec might be interested based on language skills.

Don’t have much experience. But I practiced as a general practitioner in my home country before relocating to the U.S. I also worked briefly as a paralegal (also in a general practice law firm) in Virginia before focusing on getting licensed. As a foreigner, it took quite a bit of time doing that, regularizing my stay and dealing with my back to back (hyperemesis gravidarium related) pregnancies. Thankfully everything is in place now and I’m all set to work. I’m a permanent green card holder as so not eligible to work for the government.
