My 20-something year old kid has 80k Instagram followers and rising. Any idea how to monetize this?

the easiest play is paid advertising posts. Think classic “influencer” type posts, where the account owner shouts out or recommends a product, This usually comes with a purchase link and the account owner receives a percentage of all purchases made through the link on top of a small base rate and free product… can’t give any more advice without more insight into what account it is and demographics.

Assuming you’re avoiding that OF possibility😂

Serious answer: It really depends on the theme/aesthetic of their Instagram. If your kid is posting a lot of lifestyle and outfit pictures, it will make the most sense to reach out to popular clothing brands for an ad/sponsorship. If your kid has amazing skincare they can find small up & coming skincare companies to work with, etc. Take time to look at what other "influencers" in the same category and following range are doing and the partnerships they have -- that will provide a baseline.

Seems like they’re doing alright on their own, I wouldn’t try to insert yourself in it (unless they’ve come to you asking for help)

I’ve seen a friend of mine get sponsorships for each of their posts. She casually took a photo of herself in a cafe casually doing her taxes. TurboTax paid her $3,000 for that post, which showed their logo screen.

Damn, she’s probably well over 1M and is earning a considerable amount. Good for her.

Look for agencies that specialize in micro influencers (80k followers may be in that in between stage between micro and regular). Make sure they’re getting engagement from those followers (this is a big KPI for brands). Without knowing their niche it’s hard to say, but you can really make some money on IG there days!

like

You don’t need a lot of followers to make money. As someone with a following of 13k, we’ve done partnerships for anywhere between $1k and $4.5k. A gal I follow with 30k (at the time) made $120k in partnerships. So, sky is the limit, charge your worth, focus on engagement, and try to sell something digital. A guide, ebook, course etc. No need for OF 🙄

It happens more than you think.

They haven’t monetized it themselves already? 80k won’t bring in big $$$$, but it’ll bring in $$! Lots of online resources they can turn to and in the beginning they’ll have to proactively reach out to brands/companies to build a portfolio of work that can increase their rates as they go. Also, interaction stats is what a brand really cares about.

I’m 24 and my friend makes like over 200k with 60k followers like you’d be extremely surprised. You just have to negotiate and know your worth.

80k isn’t considered a huge number these day. They might be able to make some money promoting a product that they are selling, but even my friend, who has 850k, doesn’t make much off of it anymore.

Sell some t shirts and call it a day or get an only fans. Not that deep.

I work in IG. Can help! please feel free to DM

Lots of post about kids so I’ll offer one that’s been on my mind. Why more than one kid? I grew up with a sibling. She is my best best friend but as I’ve gotten older realized we were more of the exception. Lucky that we are same gender (which I do think impacts closeness), that we are close in age, and just clicked like bffs. Have since met so many sibs with non existent and toxic relationships. More kids = more expense. After passing on genes and getting love of a child, why have more than one

Moms, I am 14 weeks pregnant and I went through a lot of anxiety and depression during my first trimester. This has impacted my relationship with my husband and especially my in-laws. When I am anxious, I need space. But my in-laws wanted to support me by coming over or inviting me over. All that was too much for me. So anytime I was at their place, I would literally just hide in one of the rooms with the lights off. My nausea was so bad that I was having a hard time even thinking straight.

Hey mommas - My baby is 14 weeks old and I haven't gotten my period back yet. I'm worried I'm pregnant again. When did you get your period back? For context, I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively (I am pumping and nursing as much as I can though). I've been on the pill since 6 weeks and my husband used condoms for the first few weeks once we started again. Surprisingly, I can't find anything online that's helpful. Any sense of a timeframe would be tremendously anxiety-reducing!

When I was 13, I was a very impressionable kid. An older cousin of mine had told me that everything on the news is a lie and that there’s always another story to historical events. This lead me to googling every single event in history with the word ‘truth’ attached to it so I could find out what really happened lol. I thought I was the smartest kid in my middle school because I believed we faked the moon landing, the titanic was a hoax, and that they put fluoride in the water to make us passive

Anyone who got promoted did not get MA. The salary of a senior at the immediate lower level is almost equivalent to a just promoted person. E.g. salary of a senior A is around 10L, but of a just promoted AC is around 10.7 - 11. The salary of a 6 month AC is around 12.5L. The same type of gap is present at AC C layer, only magnified, differences going as far as 2L in a difference of 6 months. 1. How is this fair to promotees? "Treat people right"? 2. Are we really just gonna sit and accept this?

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
