Mine is as well. I'm afraid of retaliation if I send out stuff myself but there's so many layers and we have a terrible pr partner so we always end up with nothing.

Coming from and agency w awful PR to one that does excellent PR, I’d say: generate momentum. If you can create a keystone storyline (eg. We do great experiential) then Ad pubs will buy in every time you further that story. Of course, you’re backing it up with quality work (🤞🏻), but thinking of your agency’s overall story helps when contextualizing your work to a publication. What kind of work does your agency stand for? Does this work back up that claim?
I recommend reading ‘my life in advertising’ a short read but talks about a lot of timeless tactics that still work to this day....spectacle marketing is a real thing....also you can target journalists on Facebook with your campaign material.
I would go ahead and send yourself if your agency isn’t cutting it. Just be sure to write a press release and have a really succinct POV on what the story is all about.
