I am so excited for my 2% annual raise!
I’m curious what the opinions are on the process they have seen or used to get promoted. I’ve never had it happen in my career this way but in my mind, your work speaks for itself, you advocate for yourself, ask for a promotion when it’s not been offered. Then you get promoted after you make your case if you do qualify. The way I’ve seen it (& a reason I’m leaving my current company) is where they only promote people when they’ve threatened to leave or received a different offer. Thoughts?
Currently an SC 130k annually was brought in as an EH and will be 2 years in April. Since starting, I am yet to receive a raise or AIP. Got an offer on hand for C2C, 100 hourly, five years contract utilizing my TS clearance. This is a small unknown government contractor. I am conflicted if I should accept and leave. Please advise.
I am about to get an offer. When I mentioned about having to leave my year end bonus, recruiter asked for documentation for last years bonus. I don’t want to provide that because : 1. That number is not reflective of this year bonus ( I am also up for promotion this year ) 2. They will get to know my base pay What to do in this situation. Please suggest. Thanks in advance
Any thoughts on playing hardball for early promotion? Senior 2 but have gotten 5s three years straight
Sr Product Analyst exit opportunities? I'm close to promotion to manager at Big 4 in analytics space. Stay until promotion or take Sr Product Analyst position at fintech company. Pay will be roughly the same + RSUs I'm curious about career path/exit ops as product analyst and how much exit ops improve as b4 manager compared to senior consultant. Any insights appreciated!
I have an offer from maxlinear, they are giving me almost 90% raise from my current CTC but the hr has taken almost a month to process the letter and also I have had rude conversations from her side. The technical manner knows about it all. I am not able to decide that whether this kind of incident will affect my work environment or not. Should I join maxlinear or not.
How do internal transfers impact promotions? E.g. of you are in a promotion year to manager, how farther back will your promotion be pushed?
If you got hired at the absolute bottom of the payband, I gave my salary expectations which was unknowingly less than my offer a few months back, is it possible to renegotiate a raise to at least the middle of the payband, come the performance review, raises, and bonus meeting, especially given inflation? In addition my firm’s new base payband for my position as an external higher is posted at 31% higher than my current salary.
Can someone explain the differences between T2 firms and Big4. I am new to consulting an confused. What are the major differences in the types of work they do in gov/public services? Are there major cultural differences? Are there major differences in pay and promotion progression? TIA

Hi! I’m a solution analyst, hired on a year ago as a campus hire. What is the typical raise associated with promotion to solution specialist? Is there a merit-based raise as well as a separate promotion raise? Just want an idea of what to expect. I’m also curious regarding the performance splits—how much more of a raise can a top performer expect than an average performer? Thanks!
I’ve been doing the bare minimum for a while now at work…just been super unmotivated to give that “extra”. I have the opp for promotion this year and need to get it together. How do I motivate myself to try harder?
Got offer to a small boutique firm <75 ppl. 19% raise, free healthcare and in a LCOL city. Currently in DC @ Big 4. Concerned about overall career trajectory by moving to small city and no name firm.
Currently feeling like I’m being way underpaid for my role as a tech Project Manager in Austin, TX. Can any other PMs weigh in and let me know your salary ranges? I have 2 YOE with Cisco and 2.5 YOE prior to that, yet I’m only at $75k. Wanting to ask for a raise soon so just looking to get an idea as to what others are making.
I have $4K in cash that I got from family as a gift while traveling home country. I want to deposit this into my US bank. Would it raise red flag for IRS/bank if I deposit 4k in one sitting or through ATM? Do I need to fill out anything from tax perspective Fyi- another family member wired $6K into my account two weeks ago (2021 Dec), if it matters
After getting promoted in Feb 2020 (lol fml) I designed and implemented a significant piece of data infrastructure that is beyond what’s expected of someone at my level. In 2021, I was not recognized for this accomplishment and a guy who knows nothing about the technology was promoted over me. It’s been a year since his promotion & the wheels are starting to come off: others are becoming increasingly aware of his ineptitude. What’s the best way to subtly pour gasoline on this fire?
Does anyone have any insight to the prospective salary of a senior marketing science analyst at PHD media? Gauging to see if it's worth staying after a promotion vs looking elsewhere.

What do folks do after work? Between my toddler, getting dinner prepared, and tending to house chores I feel like I have time for nothing else. How does everyone keep up? She’s only 4 and is in preschool about 7-8 hours of the day and the mom guilt eats me alive when the few hours we have with her we’re spending getting dinner ready or running errands or tending to the house. I guess it’s hitting me hard because I just started a new role and am feeling more anxious than normal.
How is the technical accounting advisory practice at KPMG in general? Are there any open positions?

Caught in round of layoffs. Hard finding fulltime, it was easier when I was younger. I’m 40 but I look 30 (lucky with good genes). Would it be crazy if I cut my resume in half and pretended to be 30?
I’m working on a case with a male lawyer who is well passed his prime. He is not listening to me (or the case law for that matter). I’m concerned about the impact on the client. Oh and he’s also the named partner of the firm. What on earth do I do?
