I'm sorry to hear that. Covid has increased depression/anxiety symptoms for a lot of people who suffered from it pre-covid, not to mention people who weren't suffering from it before. You should definately continue on with therapy if you can (i.e can you find a quiet place in park/car to continue to do your virtual therapy?) Please reach out to family and close friends to let off some steam on your work and personal challenges! It helps me a lot. Remember to have a good diet, routine sleep schedule and to make time for exercise - I know it's basic, bit it definately made me cope a bit better. Additionally, meditation also helped me centre myself and to become calmer. You got this, we are all in this together and we will adapt!

Use this time for gmat and other career prep. Focus on your goals. Reframe as I have more time and can accomplish more. That has helped me.

My SO got a great job offer in Bangkok and we need to decide soon. I’ve always been very independent and never followed a partner to another city or country. Will it be bad for my career to join him even while there is a little change I can find a job in Bangkok? Not sure what to do right now. Due to covid I recently got laid off and am already not in my home country but have lived here over 7 years. Any advice? Me following him or we both try to find another job in the country we are in now.

Just want to thank the people in this bowl for giving me advice on several posts awhile back post-COVID layoffs. Had taken on 2 other (senior) people’s jobs/duties and then successfully managed and executed 3 major projects, I finally asked my new boss (team lead) about a title change and I’m glad I did! It was definitely something he had not thought about but could see the clear reasoning behind it and was willing to go to HR to ask if it was possible.

Have any of your law firms published a new or revised “remote work” policy - specifically what it might look like post Covid? We’ve had a lot of employees (in all peer groups) say they would like some type of flexibility to work at home going forward. Ladies, I need advice. I’m mid-20s and feeling painfully lost. For most of my younger years, my identity was rooted heavily in my friendships and social life. Graduating college and then obviously the pandemic took a toll on that, I moved home and many of my friends left the city I had lived in pre-covid. Flash forward to the world reopening, I don’t like my job, my friends live all over, I have a nonexistent love life, and I don’t know what to do next

I’m in Tax and completing the mandatory GAM WBL. Usually, this course it presented at ETU and can be described as three monotone panelists speaking for two hours without any inflection whatsoever. This year, due to COVID, it’s presented as WBL. However, instead of a new and interesting format, it’s just a recording of the same humdrum blithering. Except now, I get to listen to it with my children fighting in the background.

I work with several people with kids and I have noticed quite often that they completely disregard any issues of people with no kids and try to one up work life imbalance conversations with stories of them being parents. It must be hard being a parent but I don’t think people at work should be treated differently or given any additional consideration just because they have a kid. You already get parental leave so If I’m expected to work 12hr I ask the same to be expected from my peers with kids.

Been offered a job in-house. For a tech brand. Could go from a MW salary to an ACD salary overnight. Marketers are all ex-agency, have big ambitions for the work.
