What does vacation time look like outside of the United States? (Pls share where you live) When I was young, my family lived abroad and we were able to go on long vacations - sometimes as long as 6 weeks. My dad was an engineering consultant and we were by no means loaded with cash. It seemed to me that going on vacation for a long period of time was the norm in places like South America and Europe. Is this still true? I’d love to be able to do the same kind of things for my own kids one day.
1st time on the bench in 3 years. Check out demand portal: "wtf is this shit?" No wonder everyone is unstaffed and getting the boot.
Good hotel areas to stay in Chicago?
I interned and started my career all within the confines of quarantine. Any tips for standing out when all you’ve known is remote work?
My Brother in Law is looking at contracting as a 10-99 consultant for a Healthcare IT manager / sr manager position for a client on a long term contract with the VA, managing a few dev teams. Any insight into what he should ask as his hourly rate?
Legit question: now that 90% of you all don’t have an expense account or travel, why are you doing consulting? Wlb and pay are shit, professional dev opps are good but can be developed in 2-3 years - so why not leave after
EY 🐠 - Are there any issues with dad's taking the full 16 weeks for parental leave? It says primary care givers only. Thanks!
I'm a tech consultant with 1 YOE. Im wondering if I should trade my current job: 80k TC, fully remote, ~45 hrs/week, fantastic company and team, and really fun projects, for a new opportunity: 125k TC, 100% in person, ~60 hrs/week, unknown team and company dynamics? Im leaning toward staying, because I really do love where I am, but thats life changing money! Any advice is appreciated!
Have no connections at MBB or a grad degree. Does that severely or moderately limit my chances of landing an interview? At B4 in DC with a liberal arts degree from top 25 school and data analytics cert. Promoted quickly and ranked high performer for what it’s worth. What would help up my chances the most? Assuming baseline talent, ability, and prep.
Sitting in my office drinking coffee enjoying my last day. Only have a 2 day break before starting new role next week, but damn does it feel good.
Never been on the bench. Always been 90+% utilization rate. Can I just be on the bench so I can study for CPA 🤣😭
I’m sponsored from Deloitte at my mba program and I’m planning to rerecruit for MBB. Some of my classmates and others in the program really question why I would do this. I personally did a lot of research into comp and it seems like MBB definitely would exceed in just a few years after mba. I guess just looking for opinions, is this an irresponsible plan? Or do you guys think getting MBB is def worth giving up my sponsorship
Is it better to use vacation days and postpone the day you leave or get the vacation payout
