My aunty has 300k USD in the bank that is meant to last her retirement. I’ve told her she needs to invest to keep her going - any advice on what’s the best way? (Cont’d)

Dump it into low risk dividend stocks. That should minimize downside while making the money last a bit longer

Where I am from CD pays 5-7% interest per annum. Interest alone should be more than enough to cover living expenses (assuming house is paid off, no debt and no lavish lifestyle).

CDs are < 1% in US currently. Seems pennies really.

Her pension is paid out as a lump sum in her country which is included in the 300k she now has. We worked out that it would last her about 15 years (not including health costs) as she lives in a low living cost country. However she’s rightly enough worried that this won’t be enough. Any advice how to invest given she’s already at retirement would be much appreciated! She was thinking to start a company or something that she could work at but I feel like investing in the stock market would be better.

Yes.

If you die the annuity stops paying out, even if the recipient has received less than the original purchase value. On the flip side of they live longer than expected they receive more. It's more of an insurance product than anything.

The point is to remove the risk of running out of money in retirement.

Hospital charges are through the roof and it is a long road ahead of us. Are there financial aids, options available to explore to meet the expenses? We are salaried people and parents are retired. We are exploring loan options and wanted to check with this group for other creative ways to manage. Thanks a lot for the help!

I'm 22 and planning to take a life insurance. I'm comparing all policies and max life seems attractive as it has good claim settlement ratio and less premiums. But there is no office near our area. My worry is that if there is a need to claim in future, it can be done all online by my nominee? Is it recommended to take policy online in any platform(like policybazaar)?
Other options I'm considering are SBI life, HDFC life which offices are available in my locality.

I don’t see how I can drive it back without the title, which is required to get a temp transport plate. Car is in Wisconsin I’m in Illinois, and lien is with Chase bank.

My observation is that it is hard for consulting partners to land the quality public or private board roles everyone naturally targets. Despite there being a significant amount of exceptional talent that could be deployed, there is a big bias against consultants. Everyone wants “operators,” but I feel every board could also benefit from one current or former consulting partner. But sadly, that’s not the way the external world looks at things...
