Best books about product management for a good exit to industry? I already have an MBA and PMP but looking for a refreshed perspective since it’s been years since my formal education. Currently reading “Product Managements Sacred Seven” but it’s geared toward the startup world. I am in healthcare and not looking for a startup role. TIA!!!
Best consulting firms in Houston for Healthcare?
I spent the last 3 months "growing up" & now I'm ready to go. 1st thing is for me to get my own place. I'd like to buy instead of rent because I don't want to pay someone else's mortgage. I'm thinking of selling my car & cash out some of my 401k to buy a house. My thought is to put down 3.5% for a FHA loan then make a big payment towards the principal to reduce long-term interest. Anything wrong with this thinking or anything else I should consider?
Does anyone here work at Crowe? What is the salary range for a healthcare senior consultant? YOE - 3 + MBA. Location: remote. Travel: 25- 40%. Also interested in other opinions of Senior consultant salaries at other firms. TY!
Do people front load their 401k contributions? I put in 30% for the first 6 months and then prorate up to the max for the last 6. Also, anyone know a way where we can put an explicit $ amount in instead of percent? I'd like to be at $19,500 to the cent at EOY
Does IBM GBS provide reimbursement for WFH setup ? I heard there will be 45k balance per employee where we can claim broadband and other expenses through bond portal. Can anyone throw some light on this if you have any idea ?
How much are you putting into your 401k? I’m thinking 10% of my paychecks. About me: 29F, 140K annual salary, company match 6%
Just switched jobs. Old 401k has more than $5k and new 401k is with a different provider. Is there any reason whatsoever to move the old 401k cash anywhere, either to the new 401k or to an IRA? Given that it's more than $5k, it can stay there indefinitely, right? I'm fine with the investment options with my old 401k. And I can transfer it over to a new IRA or new 401k anytime, even years in the future, right? Given that no distribution will come to force the 60 day rule?
Consultant currently work for a boutique firm - about 120 people. What are some of the benefits to working for a Big 4 firm?
Starting my new job as a provider operation consultant for the healthcare industry in two weeks. Anything I should brush up on or learn before going in? Excel,PPT? Thank you.
I’m making about $100k a year currently in a MCOL city. I’m single with no kids, no debt, rent is $1k/mo and I’m maxing my 401k and IRA. Would I be a fool buying a $65-70k car? I’m a car guy so I already have a pretty cool car with only 40k on the clock, but have been considering upgrading. Thoughts?
PwC 🐠, if my last day of employment at PwC is Dec 1, will I be covered for health insurance for the month of Dec. or would I need to get a COBRA coverage for Dec?
Is this reasonable or am I missing something? I started maxing my 401k from year 1 and I hope to have $5 million or more by the time I retire around 60. Wouldn’t it make sense to put all of my yearly $19,500 401k contribution to ROTH 401k instead of traditional 401k? My reasoning is that I would pay 35% tax now and my remaining 65% would grow tax-free in ROTH 401k…. versus traditional 401k where I deposit 100% but every distribution will be taxed 35% assuming I make a lot in retirement.
Can someone tell me who Deloitte uses for daycare reimbursement? I left the firm and no longer have access but I have money in there that I haven’t had a chance to submit a reimbursement request for
Is KPMG more adversely affected by the downturn? Friends at other big four don’t seem to have as many benefits cut or raises and bonuses eliminated. Are we not as fiscally sound or relevant in the market?
Setting up a 401k for the first time. Did you decide to do pre-tax or post-tax? Why did you decide that? Retirement savings and options are all overwhelming!
I have a car that I bought by taking a loan with Digital Credit Union (DCU). How does one go about selling it if there’s still a significant amount to be paid back as part of the loan? Might move to nyc and wouldn’t need a car. Can someone take me through the steps? TIA
Project team is all traveling into my local city this week, meaning I've slept in this morning and spent almost 2 hours at the gym. It's going to be a good week
My firm doesn't have a set maternity/paternity leave policy at my firm and I'm trying to get an idea of what types of policies mid-sized firms in New Jersey offer to their employees. How many weeks of paid time by the firm (not FMLA) is the norm?
I feel like using star method in interviews in overrated. I stopped using STAR and finally started to get offers. It’s better to be genuine and let the conversation flow than to stick to a structure. Thoughts? Maybe I just got lucky.
Hi all! Potential move Connor Group. Currently a Staff 2 at EY. SM from Connor Group has told me that there should be an upgrade in salary and more relaxed work pace. I believe him. Any info/ advice ?

Anyone been at St Kitts & Navis? Just booked the Marriott there. Any recs on what to do there?
I’ve been a high performing IC at my company for 5 years, and every time a manager role comes up that I want to go for, I’m told that ‘it will be a pay cut’ and ‘I might be bored moving to management’ etc…I’m already the most senior sales rep in the office & regularly help out teammates. I feel ready to try and make the move to manager, but I’m always told to ‘hang in there as things might come up that will be more fitting later’. I feel I won’t ever get the opportunity to lead. Any advice?
Plan to leave the firm within the next 6 months and use my PTO every other Friday because I can’t handle this work any longer—it has destroyed my mental health, along with the pandemic and all the shit going on in the world. I’m grateful to have a job but I can’t do this any more. I’m fully staffed on an engagement, but can I still request PTO every 2 weeks (just trying to use them up at this point)? Don’t care about promos, don’t care about this line of work and industry
Is anybody interested in evaluating my profile, skillset and help me understand how should I go about my next transition ? Currently, I am working as Analytics Manager in a startup but have lost touch of real machine learning modeling. I am mostly occupied in creating use cases to be built for our product that produces data points from raw SMS. Create roadmap for integration of heavy models in production considering TAT as constraint etc.. but I am not expert in these.
Ladies just wanted to vent - I’m currently on an extended leave as my father wasn’t keeping well (and I travelled to my home country) to be with my parents as well as my husband (who was getting a few visa papers processed in our home country). Recently, I discovered that I’m pregnant and probably 5ish weeks at this point. I can’t help but think that my career would be so off track as I would need to request maternity leave as soon as I start work (probably 4ish months). This is our first contd
Dear Leadership: No, I will not cancel my vacation to continue to drive a broken plan. If "optics" seems like the best lever to pull, it is clear to me why we are where we are. #workSmarter
